Firxt Train View: Like Google Earth Street View

By Peter Chubb - May 25, 2010

Google Earth Street View has had its ups and downs, but on the whole most people have and still enjoy the free software from the search engine giant. We know that Street View allows you to see roads and buildings thanks to the car with the funny camera on its roof – so how cool would it be if you could do the same for trains?

This is just what Firxt thought and developed Firxt Train View, they have achieved this by mating images and videos taken from moving trains. Both have then been mated together – the end result is a pretty cool piece of software.

There are limits as to what Firxt Train View can do, but on the whole it is very enjoyable and fun. According to mickmel from Google Earth Blog you will need to install a Google Earth Plugin, more details can be found on Firxt website.
