Users of the Nokia Ovi Maps application will be glad to know that the first significant update has been made available with version 3.0.4. Ovi Maps became a free bit of software only four months ago, but it seems that this update is making sure it wont go away anytime soon.
The new version has been improved drastically, with 2m kilometres of newly navigational roads, points of interest is now boosted to over 25m, and have speeded up the zoom and search feature significantly. Nokia have also added Qype reviews and recommendations, you can find out more about Qype here.
For more features that have been added to Nokia Ovi Maps, such as the integration of their very own WiFi triangulation system and a dedicated hotspot team, check out the source. SlashGear also talked to Places project manager Marcel Duee about what is in store for Nokia Ovi Maps in the future.
