By Alan Ng - Mar 29, 2012

We have some good news for those of you planning to pick up the HTC EVO 4G handset from Sprint, as retailers Best Buy has confirmed that they are now taking pre-orders for the device.

As reported from BGR, it now means that you have a lot more accessibility to the device and it won’t just be available direct from Sprint.

If you head down to your nearest Best Buy store or visit their mobile phone site here, you’ll be able to pre-order the handset for $199 – just in time for that June 4th release date.

Who knows, you might even prize the handset away a day early from Best Buy. Let us know if you are planning to pre-order from Best Buy or Sprint.

Not long to go now folks!

  • Thanks JC74 for confirming this info, I have been reading a lot of complaints from other sites from people who are saying that they will not buy the phone because they thought they had to pay the extra $10/month 4G charges, even though they do not currently reside in a 4G area! I was kinda worried about this as well, but now feel a lil relieved after reading your comment! Thanks again. I hope your right though.

I just got an email from Sprint customer service regarding that extra surcharge. They wrote in their email specifically that if you don't live in a 4g service area, you do not have to pay the surcharge. this is in contrast to the Sprint announcement.

Well, I am sprint pre-approved and traveled to Best But at 9581 Sage Meadow Trail, Fort Worth, TX‎ to get my pre-order. To my surprise, I was the FIRST pre-order at 1pm and it is even noted on my copy that it was the first pre-order! I had to purchase a $50 gift card that I will use for a ZAGG invisibleSHIELD when I pick my phone. The people were great and well prepared the rush. An extra $10 a month for 4G….heck I spend then that per month on chewing gum. I don't think I will mind a bit.
