No Google Nexus One 3G Fix: HTC DROID Incredible Benefits

We are not certain if Verizon will ever get the Nexus One smartphone now, since we learned that Google is unable to offer a fix for the poor 3G-reception issue. It had been assumed that the problem was with T-Mobile and its poor 3G coverage, along with bugs in the software.

However, according to a report from Engadget, it seems that an over-the-air update will not solve the issue, as it is not software related but hardware. If this were the case – then why would Verizon want a handset that cannot offer 3G reception? This could play nicely into the hands of the soon to be released HTC DROID Incredible.

Verizon customers have been waiting for some time for the release of the Nexus One on their network – we had assumed that this would happen at CTIA Wireless 2010, but it never happened. Maybe Verizon knew that Google or HTC would not be able to solve the issue and gave up on the idea of bringing the Nexus One to the family.

Would you be bothered if Verizon did not offer the Nexus One?
