iPhone OS 4.0 still does not print to printers

Apple this week announced to the world the OS 4 for the iPhone. There has been a lot of speculation in the press and on the internet that the new OS would include a way to print to printers, but this turned out not to be the case.

Pocket Watch, LLC are the developers of the app ActivePrint 7.3 that we reported on recently. The app allows users to connect their iPhone, iPod Touch, and the iPad to their printers. This allows for printing of users spreadsheets, PDF documents, and word processor files.

ActivePrint also offers the ability to print photos and web pages, and this can be done on any printer that is connected to a Windows PC. The app prints via Wi-Fi or EDGE/3G network. The quality of the print can be altered, and multiple copies are supported with color and black & white printing.

ActivePrint 7.3 is on the App Store as a free lite version, an InApp purchase can unlock the full features for only $3.99. iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad required with OS 3.1 or later.
