Mobile Virus ‘MMS Bomber’ claims millions of victims in China

Some particularly worrying news to bring you now, as it has been reported that a mobile virus called ‘MMS Bomber’ is spreading rapidly throughout China, costing users hefty phone bills in the process.

As reported from Pocket-Lint, the virus first originated in February and is said to specifically target handsets running Symbian S60 3rd Edition – with Nokia and Samsung handsets the most likely at risk.

The virus operates by sending url links to everyone on your contact list via MMS – which we all know are not cheap by any means. The virus is said to be quite sophisticated too, as it has the ability to disable your phone’s system management program.

Are you worried? Well, the good news is that this is only affecting those in China at the moment, since a recent update has prevented the virus reaching Europe. Still though – anything can happen.
