MW2 Stimulus Package: Microsoft explains the problems

By Alan Ng - Mar 31, 2010

So the aftermath of yesterday’s events is now upon us. Judging by the enormous amount of feedback on the MW2 Stiumulus Pack problems, it looks like some of you are still having problems.

Well, in the meantime, you should check out this article over at CVG, as Microsoft has given a detailed explanation on what went wrong exactly on their side.

Basically they confirm what we already knew – the DLC became available for download on the Marketplace, before the actual Title Update became available in-game – sending the whole thing into chaos.

Here is a portion of the lengthy quote from Microsoft: ”For a couple of hours the result was unpredictable but most people couldn’t get into a game through matchmaking. In technical terms, it was a big hairball that we had to unwind.”

With that said and done, there still appears to be further problems relating to billing issues with pre-paid cards. What a mess.

Check out the whole thing over at CVG and then give us your thoughts on it.
