Apple iPad: Greenpeace becomes enemy over Carbon footprints

By Alan Ng - Mar 31, 2010

It has been reported that environmental activists Greenpeace has criticized Apple over their higher than expected carbon footprints for the upcoming iPad tablet device.

As reported from Apple Insider, a new report by Greenpeace published this week, mentions the iPad specifically, and how their use of cloud computing could affect the environment in the long run.

A portion of the report states the following message: “We are not dissing the iPad. But maybe someone can come up with an app that calculates the carbon footprint of using different web sites based on their location and energy deals.”

What are your thoughts about this? Are you worried about how the release of the iPad could have an affect on the environment?
