HTC Desire: T-Mobile Release date and Android 2.1

By Alan Ng - Mar 26, 2010

We have some great news for T-Mobile customers in the UK, as the carrier has just confirmed a release date for the highly anticipated HTC Desire handset. For those of you that were worried, we can also confirm that the phone will ship with Android 2.1 OS.

Earlier on this week, we reported that the Desire was already available to pre-order from T-Mobile’s webshop, but now we have learned that those pre-orders will be shipping on March 29th.

This is also the date that T-Mobile retailers will have the phone in-store, so mark that date down if you plan to buy it that way.

Aside from Android 2.1, the Desire will pack a 1Ghz processor, improved Sense UI, a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display and an 5 megapixel camera.

T-Mobile seems to be the only confirmed UK carrier for the HTC Desire so far, we’ll update you when we know more carriers.

Will you be getting the Desire on March 29th?
