HTC Supersonic Android 3.0: Droid and Nexus One Competition

By Peter Chubb - Mar 5, 2010

We reported a few days back that the HTC Supersonic was seen in the wild; well a video had appeared online anyway. However, what we did not tell you was the fact that the smartphone comes with Android 3.0. We have to wonder how the Droid and the Nexus One will be able to handle the competition.

Not much is known about the HTC Supersonic, but we do know that the handset will come with 32GB of extendable storage as well as a 5-megapixel camera. Videos that you shoot on your camera came be uploaded direct to YouTube.

These are Droids reported last month that Sprint has already begun testing the Supersonic, with most of the bugs being removed from the month before. They had assumed that it will come with Android 2.1, but it is Mobile Gadget News that reports that the OS is to be the newer Android 3.0.

As news and information is still hard to come by we will just have to wait for HTC, Sprint or Google to offer us some information.

  • You spoke about several engaging points in this posting. I came across this by searching Google and I must confess that I already subscribed for your blog, it is extremely good 😀

That is no longer called the HTC Supersonic. It is now called the HTC Evo and it comes with Android 2.1 not Android 3.0… though it will be the first phone to run on Sprints 4G network… and it is available to the public in the summer of 2010.

Bring it on! I want the Supersonic and want a solution to the Outlook Exchange calendar sync!

I highly doubt it will come with Android 3.0… This is just a silly rumor started by a bogus screenshot that was obviously fabricated to say Android 3.0.

I of course could be wrong, but I am very inclined to think this phone will be shipping with Android 2.1
