MWC 2010: Verizon and Skype confirm free 3G calls and messages

Some fantastic news straight out of MWC now, as Verizon and Skype have jointly announced that 3G Skype calling will be coming to Verizon handsets as early as next month.

As reported from BGR, it now means that Verizon customers will be able to make free, unlimited Skype-to-Skype calls to anyone in the world, while you’ll also be able to send and receive instant messages on the go.

On top of that, you’ll also be able to make international calls using Skype’s competitive calling rates. List of compatible handsets so far include the likes of the Motorola DROID, Droid Eris and BlackBerry 9530.
