MWC 2010: BBC to release free apps for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android handsets

It has been reported that the BBC are planning to release dedicated apps for their popular News and Sport services for the iPhone, as well as BlackBerry and Android handsets in the future.

As reported from their website, you’ll be pleased to know that apps will be free to download and will first be available on the Apple iPhone in April.

The BBC states that the apps were developed in order to satisfy the growing trend in users seeking news and sport using their mobile handsets.

The apps will not only offer written content, but will also provide you with the latest audio and video news too, covering both news and sports. The sports section will focus on Football content first, obviously aimed at the upcoming World Cup which begins in June.
