Motorola Droid: Android 2.1 release delay – Where is it?

By Alan Ng - Feb 11, 2010

Remember us reporting that the Motorola Droid Android 2.1 update was due to rollout to everyone this week? Well it turns out that that information was a bit misleading, with even a Motorola Forum Manager admitting that they ‘jumped the gun’ on the update.

If you head over to BGR, you will be able to see an image scan of the forum post in question. We have to agree with ‘Matt’ here, in that the issue is a bit embarrasing for Motorola, considering that they had previously confirmed the update this week over on their Facebook page.

However, all information regarding the Android 2.1 update has now been pulled by Motorola, which suggests to us that the update is not quite ready for public release after all.

We’ll update you when we can clarify the situation further. Let us know your thoughts on this.
