Bill Gates: Apple iPad needs a keyboard

By Jamie Pert - Feb 11, 2010

Even though Bill Gates has seemingly dedicated his future to philanthropy it looks as if he is still keeping in-touch with emerging technologies, Apple’s iPad is no exception and has received mixed reviews from the Microsoft Chairman.

It seems as if Gates would much prefer a device with a physical keyboard, his recent statement has confirmed this, he said “You know, I’m a big believer in touch and digital reading, but I still think that some mixture of voice, the pen and a real keyboard – in other words a netbook – will be the mainstream on that.”

He seems to believe that the iPad is a “nice reader” however is not jealous of Apple’s latest creation, which makes you wonder if Microsoft will bother releasing the ‘Microsoft Courier’.

As you would imagine Steve Jobs’ opinions directly appose those of Bill Gates, he believes that “netbooks are better at nothing”, another person who disagrees with Gates is Disney CEO Rob Iger, hes believes that the iPad is a “game changer”.
