Sam’s Club: 11,200 Jobs Cut

Wal-Mart have recently announced that they are cutting roughly 11,200 jobs in their warehouse club division Sam’s Club, this figure is roughly around 10 percent of its workforce.

It is thought that there a range of positions being cut, they are said to be out-sourcing some positions, also they will be eliminating positions related to recruiting new business members.

Sam’s Club Chief Executive Officer Brian Cornell had this to say on the matter “We look at this as an investment in the in-club experience” and added “This is not a cost-cutting move for us in the short term. We really hope it will be cost neutral for our operation. It’s an investment in building loyalty, enhancing the member experience and driving future growth”
