GTA iPhone App: Violent game tops download chart

By Daniel Chubb - Jan 22, 2010

It’s only been a few days since the GTA iPhone app was released, and the game has already topped the download chart. According to this blog post, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars has become the iPhone’s “Number 1 Game” and that is some accomplishment in such a short time.

We just checked it’s placement on the iPhone app store and see GTA Chinatown Wars in position two, but either way it’s still made its way to the top of the charts in very little time. Call of Duty: World at War Zombies was the last big game to climb the charts at such a fast rate.

Why do gamers love this game so much? The GTA iPhone game is filled with crime, you commit mayhem, deal drugs, and can murder people. While the game is rated 17+, you have to wonder how many children will be playing this game on their iPod touch or iPhone, which is certainly not a good idea.

The success of the Grand Theft series on games consoles made it just a matter of time before it reached mobile gaming platforms like the iPod and iPhone, but such a violent game topping the download chart does raise questions that could be debated. Did you download the GTA app? What would your quick review be, and what do you think about the violence?

Us gamers love GTA so much because the simulated violence is so much fun…its not like we are murdering and dealing drugs and commiting crime in real life, but thats the beauty of video games THEY DONT HURT ANYONE so stop bleeping complaining about the violence of the goddamn video game considering anyone in a big city will see much worse any ways
