Modern Warfare 2: Negative XP, Care Package Glitch & More Patched

As any online player of Modern Warfare 2 knows the game has had more than its fair share of glitches, we have now heard that a patch has been released for Steam to fix some major problems.

There are 6 main problems patched, one of which fixes a problem which occurred when users sprinted with the marker grenades for Care Packages, Emergency Airdrops, and Sentry Guns.

One of the most significant updates has reduced the range of the Model 1887 when set up with Bling, Akimbo and FMJ, before many believed that the range was unrealistic, now it has been reduced to the same range as non-Bling model 1887s.

There was also a glitch which was resulting in some hackers exploiting the game to give out negative XP, this could result in gamers being reset to rank 1 after receiving -899999453xp after a single battle.

There are also a range of geometry issues fixed, this will result in more realistic placement detection for Sentry Guns and there should also be improved player collision.

It looks like this patch is just available for Steam at the moment, however as we find out details regarding console patches we will keep you posted, for more information regarding the XP glitch check out this link, for more details regarding the Steam patch check out Steam News.
