When Zynga released Draw Something none of us were prepared for how popular the app would turn out, and since so many people have completed the social drawing app the Draw Something sequel was only a matter of time because some details have now been leaked.

Draw Something 2 has now been confirmed on Twitter since Ryan Seacrest tweeted an image that came from Zynga themselves, along with the new logo for the app as well. It seems as though Seacrest is after trying out the new version first seeing as though he has been approached to host a show based on the app.

For those who have never played Draw Something, it’s a little like Pictionary, so can often become frustrating. We are certain that there will be some of you out there wondering why the app needs a sequel when it would be just as easy to update the current version. However, because so many people got bored and deleted the app it makes sense for OMGPOP to start over.

Since Zynga took over from OMGPOP it makes sense for the Farmiville creators to try and work their magic and make Draw Something 2 as popular as the first. They may have a tough job on their hands since the original was only flavor of the month for a few weeks.

Zynga has a chequered past with sequels, because while Farmville 2 has proven more popular than the original, the same cannot be said for Cityville 2, lets hope Draw Something 2 is more like the former then.

Social network game developer Zynga – the company behind hit games such as CityVille, Empires & Allies, FarmVille, Mafia Wars and FrontierVille – has recently announced that it will be bringing its hugely popular Scrabble-like mobile game Words With Friends to Facebook soon, although at this stage we’re not sure on an exact launch date.

As Matthew Lynley over at venturebeat.com recently noted, when the game does launch on Facebook, it will enable those who already play the word game on their iOS or Android devices to continue playing their active games on the popular social networking website. It will also allow them to play against others on Facebook, while still playing games on their mobile devices.

A Zynga spokesperson said that the cross-platform functionality works on both iOS and Android devices. Words With Friends is similar to the game of Scrabble, where point values are assigned to all of the letters. Players have to spell out different words on the board, and the game will then award them with multipliers for placing letters of special tiles.

Players can either choose to play against their friends, or compete against a random player. The gameplay in Words With Friends is asynchronous, which means that two players aren’t required to play against each other at the same time. The Facebook version of Words With Friends will use the site’s notification system to alert players when it is their turn to play.

When asked if they would bring a similar cross-platform experience to their other games, like their latest success Empires & Allies, the company unfortunately wouldn’t give comment. Speaking about the Empires & Allies game, it actually attracted more players than the FarmVille game in the first 25 days, and is now gaining users at a rate of about 1 million a day.

Do you play the Words With Friends game on your iOS or Android device? If you do, are you pleased to hear that it’s coming to Facebook?

We have some pretty exciting news for all you FarmVille and Lady Gaga fans out there now, as we’ve just heard a rather interesting piece of information. Social game publisher Zynga has just announced that it will soon be launching GagaVille, a Lady Gaga-themed farm for FarmVille.

As Dean Takahashi over at venturebeat.com recently reported, Zynga has recently created a marketing alliance with the ‘Poker Face’ singer, so that her fans can connect with Gaga-inspired wares within popular Zynga games. GagaVille will be launching on May 17th.

The GagaVille farm will showcase the pop icon’s style, as well as themes from her videos and albums. The neighboring FarmVille farm will include things such as unicorns, crystals and even sheep on motorcycles. Users will also get exclusive access to tracks from her Born This Way album.

From May 17th until May 19th, players will be able to unlock and stream a brand new unreleased track once a day. Then from May 20th to May 23rd, they can unlock and stream a large portion of the tracks from Lady Gaga’s new album, along with special bonus remixes.

Zynga’s Words with Friends game will also feature Words with gaga contest. If a user plays a special Gaga word of the day, they will then be entered into a contest to win tickets to one of Lady Gaga’s concerts on her next tour, along with a signed copy of Born This Way.

What do you think about a Lady Gaga-themed farm for FarmVille?

If you’re a fan of FarmVille and you just can’t get enough of the hugely popular Facebook game, then I think we have news that could be of interest to you. Zynga has just released a brand new level called FarmVille English Countryside, which as you can tell by the title, recreates the English countryside.

According to Emma Barnett over at telegraph.co.uk, the new FarmVille English Countryside level features crops and plants that are native to the UK, including King Edward potatoes, foxgloves and redcurrants. The crops in the English part of the FarmVille game will also grow faster due to the premium English soil.

FarmVille English Countryside marks the first time that the social network game developer – the company behind the also poular Mafia Wars – has ever made a country-specific version of the Facebook game. The plants and crops won’t be the only exclusive features in the game either.

The new level will also come with traditional polic call boxes, English cottages and even British animals, such as Shire horses, Dorking chickens and Shorthorn cows. To gain access to the new FarmVille English Countryside, players must reach level 20 of the regular version of FarmVille.

What do you think of the idea of a country-specific version of the FarmVille game?

If you are an avid player of Farmville and hold an American Express account, you are in luck as Zynga and the financial services company have announced a partnership that allows you to swap membership points for FarmVille points.

Furthermore, you can also swap these points for exclusive items or even credit for other Zynga online games such as Café World and YoVille. Click here for more information on the reward program.

100 American Express membership points will net you a dollar’s worth of in-game credit that you can splash on new items ranging from a FarmVille purple cow (540 points), YoVille Ridable Import Roadster (755 points), and a Café World Outdoor fountain (1,080 points).

In the current world, partnerships like these definitely show that the online gaming community is as important as other discounts currently available from companies like American Express. Airline discounts, hotel savings and other reward point systems have now taken that extra step and are viewed as important as gaming credit, or so it seems.

I just don’t know if spending $540 on your card is worth it for a virtual purple cow, do you?
