We have some rather interesting news now for those of you that enjoy playing first-person shooter games, as we’ve just heard that Splitfish AG has recently revealed its FRAGFX SHARK 360 controller / mouse hybrid. What’s more is that they have announced that it is arriving in August.

According to Jack Joly over on the capsulecomputers.com.au website, the FRAGFX SHARK 360 is not only the first peripheral of its kind for the Xbox 360 console, but it will also work with the PC and Mac. Splitfish are said to have worked closely with both gamers and designers during the peripheral’s development.

The FRAGFX SHARK 360 controller – which requires two AA batteries (not included) – will provide gamers with around 55 hours standby time or 50 hours play time. The controller also comes with programmable buttons, which enables users to make the controller suit their own needs.

With full Xbox 360, PC and Mac support, gamers can use the FRAGFX SHARK 360 either as a gamepad or a mouse/keyboard control. Other features include SixAxis support, Plug and Play, new 2.4GHz wireless technology and fast access to special features such as rapid-fire, macro and button swap.

Unfortunately there was no word of a price, so we can’t tell you how much the FRAGFX SHARK 360 will cost you. Would you buy this mouse / controller hybrid?

With the long-awaited TRON: Legacy now out in theatres, it was only a matter of time that we would get some fantastic new accessories with the TRON theme. This controller from PDP is officially licenced by Microsoft, and looks absolutely fantastic. It’s also limited edition too.

With only 250 made, getting your hands on one of these is going to be no easy feat. PDP have taken the futuristic-styled TRON theme and designed a controller with those same aspects.

The design is infact inspired by Clu, who plays the main antagonist in the latest TRON film. You definitely get that feeling from the orange lights embedded at the top and bottom, which also light up making those nights spent in a dark room all that more entertaining.

The controller costs $49.99 and should be available to pre-order in late December says the PDP website. But as we stated, only 250 of these have been manufactured so if you are an avid TRON fan, or just love the design, I would keep checking back on a regular basis to see if you can snap one up.

If you don’t manage to get one, you can always hope that the ones that were on show at E3 this year will come out even though we’re told that there are no plans for it.

Check out SlashGear for the different, yet similar design.

Struggling to get those headshot challenges in Black Ops? If so, a new controller may be the way forward, I recently stumbled upon a review for the Black Ops PrecisionAIM Controller for Xbox 360, it looks as if this could improve your accuracy.

We have embedded a video review at the end of this post, the first thing you will notice is its unique design, it looks pretty cool with its backlit analog sticks and its decals, also there are grips which may come in handy after hours on intense gaming.

The reviewer suggests that the raised LB and RB buttons are easier to press than the standard LB and RB bumpers, however the real excitement surrounds the combat buttons, these are located on the underside of the controller and can be set to perform different actions, if you play CoD you will probably agree that setting this to perform melee attacks should help you improve your kill/death ratio. These combat buttons may come in handy for snipers who want an easier way to hold their breath.

The reviewer says that using this controller improved his play, he scores the controller 9/10, therefore it may be worth heading over to GameShark and buying it for $49.99.

Since the first PS3 and Xbox 360 released we have heard about a number of controllers that have gone wrong thanks to water, which Sony or Microsoft may not replace accidental damage under warranty.

One gamer that spilt water on their PS3 controller had problems with the analogue stick and buttons after, although not all controllers are this temperamental. At the time of writing we have not been able to find any controller on the market designed to take water damage or that could be used in a hot tub.

Game stores are getting requests for waterproof PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers in the UK, U.S. and other countries. The question would be if the market were big enough for a controller that can handle water damage.

Sitting in a hot tub playing Halo Reach or COD Black Ops would be pretty cool, but parents have also asked for these controllers thanks to adventurous kids that will put controllers in all sorts of places, including fish tanks.

Would you love a controller that could be cleaned thoroughly with water without the worry of water damage, or could go through hell with children and hot tub parties? They are needed now, but where are they?

Off the back of the news that Microsoft are aiming to revise the look of the Xbox 360 controller, we have discovered a video that shows you the refined controller in all it’s glory — with a new metallic coloured D-pad, and colourless buttons.

The video (that can be viewed below) comes from Larry Hyrb, the Director of Programming for Xbox Live who took the new creation to YouTube where he explains the new features of the refined Xbox 360 controller.

When we first see it, it looks pretty much the same. For that, I was initially pretty disappointed, but on closer inspection we notice two obvious differences.

The D-pad – Although not massively used in this day and age, the new improved d-pad looks polished, and quite stylish. The main feature being that it can be twisted so the ‘plus sign’ raises up that gives you the choice of using it as a flat disc, or raised pad.

ABXY Buttons – Where have the colors gone? Quite strangely, Microsoft have removed the color-coded aspect of the buttons and replaced them with simple white and dark grey colors respectively.

One other thing to note is that the ergonomics of the analogue sticks have been honed with the controller now being sold with a play and charge kit.

Price – Yea, we knew this would be a talking point. Microsoft have been making some changes to their services over the past day or two, with the price increase of Xbox Live Gold, and now they want to charge us $65 when the controller comes out in November. Pit this against the cost of Kinect and Xbox Live and you are sure to be out of pocket by the end of the year.

No word on how much it will cost when it comes out in Europe in February 2011, but we are sure it will be even more obsured than it’s American brother.

Depending on which way you look at it, we have some good or bad news for Xbox 360 owners. Microsoft is reportedly thinking about changing the design of their Xbox 360 controller. We want them to hear your best ideas.

According to this report from Joystiq, Microsoft are finally looking to revamp the design, with the d-pad in pole position for a radical update. It is no secret that fighting games i.e Street Fighter IV remain an unneccessary challenge when using the 360 d-pad, so I’m sure there are a lot of pleased owners out there reading this.

Joystiq state that Microsoft are planning to alter the d-pad, so it stands a quarter of an inch higher, whenever you rotate it 90 degrees. Aside from that bit of information, thats all we have to go on at the moment.

Which is why we need your help. Personally, I think it is a great idea that they are considering a design upgrade – especially for the Xbox 360 too, and not just thinking about the 720 or whatever it will end up being called.

Do you already have an idea on what you’d like the 360 pad to look like? It wouldn’t be a bad thing if they took some tips from the PS3 pad, everyone knows that the Dual-Shock that Sony patented was a great invention, just like the original SNES pad.

I would like the Xbox 360 to be lighter for one, and not feel so bulky when gripping it. A lighter, compact design with Microsoft’s same form factor and an improved d-pad would go down a treat – do you agree?

I know you have some better ideas. Leave us a comment with your best ones!
