The moment WWDC 2012 tickets and registration became available they sold out within hours, which upset a lot of Apple developers that still want tickets to WWDC. The good news is some people don’t want their tickets for a number of reasons although the bad news is they cannot sell these tickets, although Cocoa China wants to help by getting Apple’s attention over the amount of people not planning on using a ticket they purchased and showing how many Apple developers still want tickets to WWDC 2012.

When Apple allowed the tickets to be sold last year they didn’t go cheap – Apple officially said that tickets sold out “within 2 hours“, and the original price was $1,599, and last year people selling tickets took advantage of demand and sold for 2 or 3 times the price. This year Apple didn’t want the same problems and put a ban on selling tickets to WWDC 2012.

The website setup to catch Apple’s attention is called “WWDC Wait List“, and can be found here with two boxes for those wanting to be added to the list and another for anyone wanting a refund but know Apple’s tickets are “non-refundable“.

The World Wide Developer Conference is to be held June 11-15 in San Francisco, and there are plenty of rumors flying around involving a new MacBook Pro for 2012 and even iOS 6 getting a preview. One thing you can count on is no official word from Apple until WWDC and this is one reason devs want to get tickets to the event.

What do you think of the idea behind WWDC Wait List, and do you still want to buy a ticket for WWDC 2012?

Last summer many Apple fans were shocked to see no big iPhone showcase at the WWDC event, as Apple broke with tradition and didn’t launch a new iPhone until October with the 4S. Today there is talk that Apple may return to the normal June release with the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 4S launch led many to believe that the next model would release around the same time this year, but as Mac of Cult are reporting one analyst believes this won’t be the case. Daiwa Securities are claiming the iPhone will return to its traditional WWDC reveal ahead of a summer release.

There are also claims that the iPhone 5 will make use of a glass to glass touch panel, which will be supplied by TPK Holding and Wintek. Some have already felt Apple wouldn’t keep the iPhone to an October reveal, and reports before suggested that the iPhone 5 was merely delayed until the technology was ready for the device.

This led to Apple substituting the device with the upgraded iPhone 4S with the iPhone 5 being a new design. It is believed the device will have an all new form factor with LTE and NFC technology built-in. Apple have yet to reveal the dates for this year’s WWDC, but a leaked calendar for the Moscone Center in San Francisco, hints it could take place between June 10th and June 15th.

The date has been reserved for a Corporate Meeting, which is usually used for when Apple are planning to stage an event. Previously it was reported that Apple was close to beginning production for the iPhone 5, which would give the company time to build up plenty of stock in time for a summer launch.

Are you hoping the iPhone 5 is made available in the summer?

We have to laugh at the latest news regarding possible WWDC 2012 dates, as it has only been a week and half since Steve Jobs wrapped up this years event. We just hope that if these dates are true, then we can start to offer our release expectations regarding iOS 6 and the iPhone 6. OK, so we know we are getting ahead of ourselves, but these things have to be looked in to.

MacRumors has been looking at what events the Moscone Center has going on next year, and we can see that June 10- 15 has been earmarked for Apple’s WWDC 2012 event. We should not jump ahead of ourselves here, as these days are provisional. However, we cannot see that these dates are accurate, as that would mean that Steve Jobs would hold his keynote on a Sunday. Maybe it will be the 16th, and that the day before will be when Apple takes over the venue to get ready?

The launch of iOS 5 was seen as a huge success for Apple, and will finally give the iPhone and iPad a few much-needed features – even if they have been borrowed from Android and Windows Phone. However, one would expect Apple to step it up another gear and come up with yet more needed features and tweaks. iOS 6 will need to be ready for 4G, as we expect next years iPhone to fully support the technology.

The sixth-generation iPhone should come with a new design, unlike the iPhone 5, which is said to be just a minor spec bump and nothing else. We should expect a few more things from iPhone 6, and that is a complete redesign, improved battery and also dual GSM/CDMA support. Oh one more thing, it should also be available on all four main carriers in the U.S.

WWDC 2011 is just days away now, so seems fitting that we will take a look at a few iOS 5 concept videos of new features and how to implement them. Some of these include improved speech recognition, faster switching between apps, widgets and much more. One thing we do know, we do not have long to see if any of these become a reality.

iPhone Hacks explains that Jan-Michael Cart hopes that even if these concepts do not make it to iOS 5, he does hope that it will spur developers or Apple to offer these features at a later date. All we can say is, he must be very confidant of his work. There are four videos in all, which we have embedded for you below.

First up is Speech Recognition, which looks at how Apple could use a universal speech control to use more features that it does now. Tasks include navigating the phone to reading texts and emails. Next up is Fast App Switching, as we all know how slow it can be to go from one app to another.

Thirdly we have Widgets, with possible designs being endless. Finally we have Push Notification System with a new notification area and new dynamic icons. All these videos are just dreams of one guy, but they look like ones that most of us would like to see implemented into the next iOS.

Apple is an unstoppable brand, even without the iPhone 5 WWDC release. June is usually the time that Steve Jobs announces a new version of their ever popular smartphone, but that does not look to be the case this year. With most companies this would cause them a huge problem, with Apple it leaves tech fans wanting more, and they do not mind waiting for it.

Apple can afford to take their time with the release of the iPhone 5, as they seem relentless in offering updates for some of their other devices – most recently the iMac 2011 refresh. Apple is now the most valuable brand in the world, which has allowed them to make it to number 35 on the Fortune 500 list with earnings of $65 billion. However, they did move up 21 places in just one year.

So what can we expect from WWDC 2011? Well maybe details on the iPhone 5, even though they might not release it then, along with information on iOS 5. Maybe they might use this time to show off a new MacBook Air with OS X Lion? The slimline laptop has allowed Apple to enjoy healthy sales of this market once again, thanks to a design change in 2010. However, it still lacks in the processor department.

These will not be the huge announcements that we are used to during a WWDC, but this will not affect the Apple brand in any way. They must have a gameplan, one that will benefit them. Maybe they will use this time to implement more features into the iPhone 5, along with the possibility of two models and a fast approaching holiday season?

Do you think that Apple is an unstoppable brand?
