There have been a lot of new apps making their way onto the iTunes app store recently, one of which was the WikiLeaks App. For those of you that don’t know what WikiLeaks are, they are illegally leaked classified bits of information that is being published on the Internet. Often they are top secret memos or confidential government documents.

The app was released onto the store 4 days ago for £1.19 or $1.99. Once you had the app, you had access to a whole library of classified information. When the app was installed you would then have full access to the WikiLeaks website, you would have a continuous news feed even if the WikiLeaks server was encountering any problems and you would have access to old and new WikiLeaks documents.

According to Sam Oliver from AppleInsider.com, the originally approved app has now been removed. Apple hasn’t given an official reason as to why it has been taken down. The suspicion is that Apple has joined a consortium in the U.S. that are trying to stand in WikiLeaks path. You can read more about it over at AppleInsider. You can also view the previous app details from here. You can also view some of the WikiLeaks details on YouTube by clicking here.

What do you think about WikiLeaks app being removed? Do you think that the data they publish should be available anyway? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

We have some big news for you as website Wikileaks have said their site has been under a massive computer attack. This comes just hours before an expected release of classified US documents.

The site has been updating their status via Twitter and posted “We are currently under a mass distributed denial of service attack.” Previously the site leaked 75,000 classified files from the war in Afghanistan. This was despite warnings from government officials and the Pentagon.

Last month more files were released from the Iraq war, and in another post on Twitter the site claimed it was going to release its largest amount files so far. The post read “Next release is 7x the size of the Iraq War Logs. Intense pressure over it for months.”

According to a later Twitter post today it was claimed that many newspapers including The Guardian and New York Times would publish the files, regardless of the site being down.

Continuing the story about the WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, where rumors circled on Twitter about a CIA paper being released surfaced, we can now reveal that Assange is facing a molestation charge and has been questioned by Swedish police.

Although not much information has been released, Leif Silbersky told a Swedish paper that his client had been questioned by police, but told them that he had not committed a crime.

Another case that involves Assange is also on the table after the prosecution authorities issued a warrant for his arrest with the suspicious of rape, who then later withdrew the warrant.

Any further information regarding the molestation charge will not be revealed as the prosecutor and the police are remaining tight-lipped about the allegation.

If Assange is found guilty of the molestation crime, it could end up being quite technical as the law covers many different aspects.

He could be fined, or face up to one year in prison although a fine is more common place according to cheif prosecutor Eva Finné.

More information on this story can be found at PC World.
