Volkswagen Beetle 2011: Top Super Bowl Commercial 2011?

If you are a fan of the Volkswagen Beetle you are probably wondering what VW have up their sleeves with the 2011 model, well last night during the Super Bowl 2011 a teaser ad was shown which left a lot of viewers wanting to know more about 2011′s model.

We have embedded the 2011 Beetle ad at the end of this post and it doesn’t reveal anything too exciting that said it is pretty cool, the ad lasts 30 seconds and shows a beetle with racing stripes (insect not the car) in what appears to be a rainforest, towards the end of the video you see a very brief glimpse of the 2011 Beetle’s shape.

We have embedded the image below showing the 2011 Volkwagen Beetle’s shape, the picture doesn’t show you a lot, however to me it looks much sportier than last year’s Beetle, it also looks different to the 2012 Beetle spy shots we posted previously.

As you can see “The 21st Century Beetle” will be available “This Fall”, hopefully we will find out more about it soon, when we do we we will be sure to keep you-up-to-date with all of the important and interesting information.

2012 VW Beetle: Design and Spec Expectations

We feel as if we already know so much about the new 2012 VW Beetle, but we actually know very little. We know that the new model will have larger rear seats and that it will have a sportier look. We have already seen a few spy shots and a silhouette thanks to the Oprah Winfrey show, but what do we really know about Volkswagen’s upcoming flagship model?

According to Starred Reviews, the new design will have a more muscular look, so could finally drop that girly image. Having studied those recent spy shots, it looks as though the new model will have a higher roofline and will not be as rounded, which is also a main issue with the current design.

The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle will sit in the road with a more aggressive stance, this is because it will be both wider and longer, and the alloy wheels will also help to achieve this image. The German automaker knows that getting performance and fuel-economy balanced is a tough job, but I feel tht they are more than up for the task.

There are a number of roads that VW can go down, and I would not mind betting that they would consider a hybrid version in time. Who knows, maybe one day we could even see an all-electric version like the Nissan Leaf.

2012 Volkswagen Beetle Revealed: Kind Of

When it comes to chat show hosts, Oprah Winfrey is the queen, and it will be a sad day when she hangs up her mic. You may wonder why I would be talking about this on PR; well she did two amazing things yesterday. The first was to give all audience members an Apple iPad each, and the second was to announce that they would all get a 2012 Volkswagen Beetle each.

We have yet to see the new vehicle, but we were treated to a little reveal on the show – well a silhouette of it. However, Oprah has seen the car, but her 275 audience members and us have not. According to Chris Paukert from Autoblog, he believes that VW will unveil the new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle sometime in the Spring.

Not much is known about the new vehicle, but we do know that it will come with all the latest technology inside, such a touchscreen and Bluetooth. The last car that the chat show host gave away was a Pontiac G6 in 2004.

There have been sightings of the new vehicle though, Kirby from Top Speed reported last month that one was spotted, and you can see that there are a few subtle changes – but not many. However, we do know that there will be bigger rear seats, which we discussed back in October 2009.
