Following on from the news which we gave you this morning, that future iOS updates on the Verizon iPhone could be done over the air after the iOS 5 update, we thought we would have a look at what many users iOS 5 wish list would be.

Next month’s WWDC event is known to be focused on software, and it is thought we will hear some news about iOS 5. Our earlier article spoke about the possibility of OTA updates with future iOS software versions, with the Verizon iPhone already thought to be involved.

Having a feature that users can try out all paid for applications before buying the full version would be a nice idea, or being able to organize applications into folders would be useful. Having true multitasking instead of just app switching would be a highly welcome move to many iPhone users.

The WWDC event is just a month away now, so expect to start hearing some leaks of what Apple might be going to offer with iOS 5. Unfortunately the iPhone 5 is not thought to be making an appearance at WWDC, but with Apple you never know.

Tell us what you most want to see in iOS 5 and take part in our poll below.

If you use your iPhone to wake you up of a morning make sure you have a back up alarm, as there seems to be problems with some Verizon iPhones clocks and the daylight saving time.

Brenna Ehrlich over at Mashable.com is reporting in an article that some owners handsets clock fell back an hour instead of going forward. If you didn’t already know daylight saving time happened last night/this morning, so everyone gets one less hour sleep.

But the trouble is some Verizon iPhones have fallen back one hour, and the problem hasn’t been restricted to Verizon, as some AT&T owners have also reported problems. There are reports that some handsets behaving as they should, so it is not affecting everyone.

There was a similar problem back in January where some users reported problems with their alarms on the iPhone. If you have noticed your iPhone showing the wrong time try restarting the device or go to the date time settings and turn the automatic setting feature to off.

This problem is not affecting everyone with an iPhone, but it would be worth having a backup alarm just for tomorrow, unless you manually set the time on your device. Let us know if you have had problems with your iPhone clock.

Time to jump aboard another Verizon iPhone rumor bandwagon, and this one is pretty special. We’re hearing reports that Apple are planning to release an upgraded version of their CDMA iPhone, only this one will have support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

This particular information has some strength to it though, as the details have actually surfaced from a Verizon executive who disclosed hints about the device during a recent investor call. Here is a quote from the executive, Fran Shammo as reported from Reuters:

“There could be some (margin) lumpiness when you launch the phone. “If there happens to be a new one that comes out, that quarter might not look so good (either).”

Obviously the ending part of his comments are most interesting, and could be a clear sign that a new Verizon iPhone device will be out before the end of the year. If that’s the case, then it is very likely that this iPhone will have 4G LTE support amongst other hardware upgrades.

Pretty exciting details there don’t you think? We could be seeing a 4G Verizon iPhone with also a dual-core processor by the time 2011 ends – now that really would be something. As always, we’ll update you when we hear more details on this.

Let us know your thoughts on the subject – Do you think it’s likely that Apple will offer a revised version of their iPhone to make use of Verizon’s 4G LTE capabilities? It would be a logical step for Apple and Verizon, since they’d then be able to market their device with the ’4G’ brand everywhere, just like other companies are doing at the moment.

The iPhone 4 has been available to Verizon customers for a few days now, and after the years of speculation the handset finally arrived. Now you would think there would be a stampede as people rush to get their hands on Apples flagship device, but it seems this is not the case.

BGR have managed to get their hands on some information regarding iPhone 4 sales during the first five days of the device being available on the carrier. The sales figures are from five Apple stores, including two prominent ones, these show that Verizon are only selling a few more handsets than AT&T when it comes to the iPhone 4.

There are also some figures of who are actually buying the device, with 30 percent being Android users. Meanwhile 25 percent of BlackBerry users switched, with only 14 percent of AT&T users jumping ship. Other people surveyed either didn’t have a phone or preferred not to say.

Now you must keep in mind this is only figures from five stores, and may not reflect sales across the entire country. It may also be the case that a lot of people are keeping their powder dry until any news of a new iPhone becomes official. Would you want to be just entering a two year contract and then Apple release a new handset? Head over to BGR to see the figures for yourself.

Are you waiting for the iPhone 5 before joining Verizon?

You would have thought that Apple would make an extra effort to ensure that the words ‘iPhone 4′ and ‘Antenna Problems‘ are never heard in the same breath again, but it looks like the new CDMA version of the device also has a dodgy antenna.

According to this report from RedmondPie, a analysis on the Verizon iPhone antenna has been provided by the guys over at iLounge and worryingly, they conclude that the device still drops signal when held in the death grip position, despite the fact that it has a resigned antenna – different from the one included in the original iPhone 4.

iLounge also state that the death grip results in a loss of signal for both cellular signal, and also when using a WiFi connection – a bit worrying when you thought the problems were over last year. If you want to see proof of the problem occuring on the recently released Verizon iPhone, check out the included video below.

Have you experienced this problem before? If you currently own the iPhone 4 on Verizon, it might be a good idea to give the ‘death grip’ a quick test to see if it affects you too, it will also give us an idea of how widespread this problem is.

Verizon began taking pre-orders online at 3.00am, by 5.00am Verizon had sold more phones than any other first-day launch in their history, no exact figures have been revealed, however Verizon thanked their employees for all of their hard work.

Online pre-orders will begin again on February 9th at 3:01 AM EST, at 7.00am on February 10th you will be able to buy your Verizon iPhone 4 in-stores, however some experts and analysts suggest that stock levels may be low due to the massive pre-order success yesterday.

The fact that so many people have pre-ordered their Verizon iPhone 4 suggests that people didn’t really care that there is no 4G connectivity, it will be interesting to see how the Verizon iPhone 4 launch will affect the iPhone 5 release, at the moment we think that the iPhone 5 will be an AT&T exclusive, however this has not been confirmed yet.

We would love to hear from you on this matter, would you prefer a Verizon iPhone 4 or an AT&T iPhone 5? According to FreakGeaks Verizon’s option has no reception issues, even if it is being held in the “death grip”, AT&T’s network has been questioned for years and consumers report a lot of dropped calls, therefore there is some doubt as to whether AT&T’s network is up to the demand an iPhone 5 will bring, that said a lot of people have jumped from AT&T to Verizon, therefore AT&T’s network will be under less stress.

Did your jump from AT&T to Verizon for the new CMDA iPhone 4?

You may already be aware that Verizon is offering their customers a chance to upgrade to an iPhone, even if they have recently purchased another handset; more on this in Alan Ng’s post from yesterday. However, we now have information that Big Red is to also offer a trade-in deal for existing AT&T iPhone customers.

According to Mac Rumors the trade-in price for an upgrade are as follows: $60 for a 16GB iPhone 2G, $105 for 16GB 3G, $160 for a 32GB 3GS, $280 for a 16GB iPhone 4 and finally $360 for a 32GB iPhone 4. We wonder if they will offer a trade-in deal for their iPhone 4 if they launch the iPhone 5 in June?

Verizon have always had strong sales, but MarketWatch reports that sales have slumped recently, which seems to have something to do with customers waiting for the iPhone 4, which will go on sale on February 10, 2011. This slowdown was to be expected, as we have known for sometime how popular the Big Red version of the Apple smartphone will be.

Verizon knows how much of a big deal the iPhone 4 will be to them, which is why they are to offer an unlimited data plan for just $30 per month. Jamie Pert notes that AT&T might have to respond to this, as they scrapped their unlimited plan last year.

How do you think that AT&T will react to these new incentives from Verizon, which as we can see is focused at taking as many iPhone customers away from AT&T as possible?

We have some important news for those of you who have just purchased a handset on Verizon recently, as the US carrier is offering customers $200 to upgrade to their iPhone 4 plan, as part of their special offer.

The Verizon iPhone 4 isn’t due to arrive on Big Red until February 10th, but that hasn’t stopped the carrier from trying to tempt users to switch to their new prized asset.

If you have bought a handset between November 26th 2010 and January 10th 2011, there is a good chance that you’ll be eligible for this offer, in which Verizon will offer you to the chance to trade in your handset for an iPhone with a $200 Visa debit card to spend.

The information over at BGR on this particular deal is a bit confusing, so you are best to read the information yourself over at Verizon’s website here. If you have purchased a smartphone between the above dates, let us know what you are planning to do.

We’re guessing most of you have bought Android phones on Verizon. Let us know if you are willing to trade one in for the mighty iPhone – this should be interesting to see how many of you are game for this.

On January 11th Verizon Wireless officially announced their iPhone 4 release, two weeks have now passed therefore I am sure some of you will be eager to find out details regarded data plan pricing etc, luckily for you we have that information for you today.

Verizon has now announced that they will offer iPhone 4 buyers a $30 unlimited data plan, Verizon’s chief operating officer revealed this news recently and explained that if Verizon did not offer an unlimited data plan it might have deterred customers who were looking to switch from AT&T to “Big Red”.

This news might see a reaction from AT&T in an attempt to keep customers, last year AT&T scrapped their unlimited plans in favor of a $25 per month plan which gives customers 2GB of data, as Mashable point out Verizon’s iPhone 4 can also act as a WiFi hotspot, whereas AT&T’s iPhone 4 does not offer this feature, it is unclear if Verizon will charge for the WiFi hotspot functionality, however AT&T charge $20 per month for tethering.

It is plain to see that Verizon’s iPhone 4 deals are looking increasing desirable over AT&T’s offerings, if the WiFi hotspot functionality is offered for equal to, or less than AT&T’s tethering pricing I really fail to see why people would choose AT&T over Verizon (excluding a lack of coverage).

What do you think of Verizon unlimited data plan pricing? Do you think AT&T need to react?

On January 11, 2011 Verizon announced that they were to offer the iPhone 4 to its customers, for the most part the iPhone looked the same as the current AT&T version. However, there was a subtle difference with the external antenna, as the black bands were no longer on the bottom but at the top instead. This meant that the volume and mute buttons had to be lowered; this means that the current bumper from Apple will no longer fit.

However, Ross Miller from Engadget was informed that there is now a universal iPhone 4 bumper, which means that it will be able to fit both carrier versions. This is an official Apple product, and it’s only when you do a side-by-side comparison that you can see how different they are – not much.

The reader who found this in an Apple store tried it on his current AT&T fourth-generation iPhone, and it was a perfect fit. However, I do worry how long it will be a perfect fit for? I have had mine since they gave them out for free, and already the thing has started to get a bit baggy; this is because I have to take the bumper off if I wish to put my iPhone 4 in my Bose dock.

Other cases for the Big Red version of the iPhone have already started to appear, SlashGear has a hands-on of what they believe is the first case available. This just shows how fast these manufactures can work when they know that are in a race against time, as the Verizon iPhone is released on February 12th.

Will you choose a case or a bumper?
