As most of you will already be aware, Verizon Wireless has already started to sell the Apple iPad in stores across the US. It may not be the Apple device which most of had hoped for, but how many of you still went out and bought one?

As PC World reports, consumers will have to pay a small fortune in order to secure an iPad on Verizon, as the cheapest option available is the 16GB WiFi 16GB model for $629.99, and you’ll also get a free MiFi 2200 3G Hotspot bundle which will allow you to hook up four other devices.

If you choose to buy an iPad on Verizon, you’ll need to purchase a data bundle as well, as Verizon has made things very simple by just offering a 1GB allowance for $20 a month with no fixed contract.

How many of you have already bought an iPad from Verizon? Are any of you still planning to get one despite the price?

Now that we know that iPad is officially coming to Verizon Wireless at the end of this month, many consumers will be faced with a hard decision to make. Do you choose the iPad, or the upcoming iPhone expected early next year?

We doubt that the average consumer will be buying both devices straight away, as that would set you back well close to $1000, which is a bit hard to justify in the current economic climate. Then again, you could argue that both are completely different, seeing as one is a tablet, one is a smartphone and there is perfect need for both items in the household.

If you are restricted to just one device though, what would you choose? Would you go for the $630 priced Verizon iPad (16GB model), or go for the iPhone on Verizon which is likely to come in at $199 on contract?

The easy option would be to just have both, but not everyone is financially flexible. Let us know your choice below in our included poll. We’ll post the results later on.

In what’s sure to bring a smile to your face, Verizon Wireless has just announced that they’ll be carrying the Apple iPad in their retail stores at the end of the month. We have a solid date for you to mark down, as well as detailed pricing.

As reported from Engadget, the Verizon iPad will be available to buy on Thursday October 28th, just in time for Halloween! Verizon will only be offering the WiFi model of the iPad, since they will be providing their MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot along with it for 3G data on the move – smart.

If you are interesed in this (let’s face it, a lot of you are), then pricing is as follows: The 16GB iPad will be $630, 32GB $730 and $830 for the collossus 64GB version.

Verizon’s data plan for the iPad is pretty straight forward, and very reasonable too. For a single payment of $20 per month, you’ll get a monthly allowance of 1GB, with no contract required.

The full press release can be seen over at Engadget. Let us know your thoughts on Verizon’s pricing for the iPad. Are you interested in getting one or not?

UPDATE: We’ve just been informed that there are several other data plans available for the iPad too. Aside from $20 for 1GB a month, you’ll also be able to choose from $35 for 3GB and $50 for 5GB. However, if you go over the limits, you’ll be charged $10 per 1GB each time – discuss away.
