Usually we would find out one or two weeks before each relevant DLC pack is out, but Capcom has decided against this strategy this time in favor of giving gamers a full lowdown. Thanks to a list provided over at Eurogamer, via the Capcom Unity Blog, we have now been given full details on what packs will be coming out, and how much they will cost gamers.

Each DLC pack will cost gamers around $4 for the PS3 version, or 320 Microsoft Points and we can tell you that there will as many as ten DLC packs releasing for game after release. You have the option of buying each one separately, or all together in one bundle pack for $20 or 1600 Microsoft Points which will save you a bit of money. Each pack contains new skins for four new characters and there’s a total of 48 character skins to choose from.

There’s some bizarre costumes on the list it has to be said, and some very cool ones too, like Scarlet Spidey, Street Fighter 1 Ryu and Cyber Akuma. You can check out images of all the new costumes over at GameSpot here, but the list of 40 costumes (not including the 8 featured in the Costume Pack) can be seen below, along with their respective release dates.

If you’re not familiar with the popular character, he is a Japanese lawyer who was made famous in the Ace Attorney games that you may have played back on the Gameboy Advance back in 2001. If you are a fan, you’ll be delighted to hear that he will be playable in the new Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 roster and since he has unique characteristics unlike the other fighters in the game, he will have a special set of moves which Capcom has taken their time to explain to fans.

To put it briefly, Phoenix Wright will have three main fighting modes when playing: Investigation, Trial and Turnabout. The idea is to reach the best mode, which is Turnabout in the quickest time possible in order to use his most effective moves, and you do that by working your way up from Investigation and finding clues to move up to the Trial mode.

You may be thinking how am earth am I going to do this effectively when I’m trying to dodge all my opponent’s attacks, but Capcom demonstate how to do this in their video, which is over 17 minutes in length. Phoenix Wright will not have very good mobility, but providing that you’re able to get him to Turnabout mode, you’ll find that some of his powered up attacks and hyper moves are easily some of the most damaging in the whole game.

Pay attention to the video and perhaps even take some notes in the video as well, since Capcom even reveal the button combinations for most of his moves set. They do the exact same thing for Iron Fist, so if you are a fan of this character as well, be sure to check out his gameplay below.

UMvC3 is due for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime in November and further footage of the game was unveiled at the recent New York Comic Con event over the last few days. As with previous Comic Con unveils for Marvel games, the news is pretty big as Capcom will be releasing a free piece of DLC called ‘Heroes and Heralds’ and it will be available to download sometime after launch.

The DLC aims to ‘unbalance’ gameplay just for fun, and will allow players to cancel specials into specials of their own, perform parries and use crazy abilities such as invisibility, super armor, projectile invincibility and more.

These new abilites will be unlocked using a new card system which will come included in the Heroes and Heralds pack, with Capcom stating that there will be over 100 cards and a total of 1.12 million different combinations when players equip three cards at a time. Sounds pretty crazy doesn’t it? – We’re just glad it’s free.

That’s not all either, as Capcom also unveiled at Comic Con that a new character will be playable in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. However, it’s no ordinary character though, as it’s none other than big boss Galactus himself. There’s no solid details from Capcom on when he will be out or how much he’ll cost, but we’ve included a shaky cam clip below from Comic Con which shows how he will play in the game. Watch it while you can though, as Capcom will probably remove it – being the spoil sports that they are.

So there we have it. Finally some good news from fans perspective that Capcom is doing something good and dishing out a free helping of DLC.
