Let’s start with the release date, according to MMAmania (and lots of other sources) the game will finally arrive on February 14, 2012. For those of you who haven’t noticed this is Valentine’s day, so perhaps start dropping some hints in early Feb and your loved one may pick up a copy for you in exchange for some flowers, chocolates and a romantic meal.

Most serious UFC fans will know how MMA has not always taken place inside the six-sides of the the octagon, in fact many of today’s most successful UFC fighters started their careers a decade or so ago in Pride FC. Today we can confirm that in UFC Undisputed 3 you will be able to battle it out in the traditional Pride squared-ring – we have embedded a trailer showing this at the bottom of this post.

Early in the video you see some video highlights from fighters such as Wanderlei Silva, Quinton Jackson, Cro Cop and many more iconic MMA fighters, Bas Rutten talks us through the trailer and towards the end we get to see some gameplay footage. It only lasts a few seconds but we think we see Don Frye, Cro Cop and Gary Goodridge. You can see the full Pride roster here, as you can see there are some legends missing such as Fedor Emelianenko.

We think that adding Pride to UFC Undisputed 3 and will further build on the solid foundations set by Undisputed 2009 and 2010. What aspects of the game would you like to see improved this time around?

As Pete over at thecontrolleronline.com recently noted, THQ has answered fans questions on what changes they have made to the upcoming UFC Undisputed 3 title, providing us with new game details in the process. Those of you that have played the previous UFC Undisputed games will know that it was quite difficult to escape a clinch. However, changes have now been made to make it easier.

When you are on the offensive side of a clinch, your grip will loosen with every punch, elbow and knee you throw, eventually enabling your opponent to escape. The rate of damage has also been increased, so your opponents will now be knocked out or knocked back sooner than they did in previous games. When players were on the defensive side of a clinch before, they could only transition their way out.

That isn’t the case anymore however, as players have been given more options. Players can either navigate their fighter to safety, or simply punch their way out of the clinch. Another notable change is to the game’s difficulty. Not only have they made the AI on Expert Mode better, they’ve also added an even harder difficulty known as Ultimate. The AI in this mode will perform strategies and moves not seen on other difficulties.

Speaking of AI, this is another area that appears to have been improved; with AI now fighting more like a real person would if they were in control of them. Not only have their timing and strategies been improved, but also their overall difficulty. The ‘Create a Fighter’ feature has also received some changes, and the weighting on stats is even more so in the UFC Undisputed 3 game.

This of course means that you will no longer have to step into the cage with someone’s super CAF. Players will also be able to customize their walk-outs in the UFC Undisputed 3 game, including the music and their fighters outfit. A recent post on GameInformer tells us that UFC Undisputed 3 will arrive in January 2012, prior to this we knew that it would arrive in Q1 2012, therefore THQ has narrowed down the release date a little.

We can also confirm that there will be some new features and modes, firstly there will be new ways to finish fights and a new submission system, also there will be a new PRIDE game mode.

It is thought that UFC Undisputed 3 will make an appearance at E3 2011 in a few days time, hopefully this will give us some information regarding the proposed changes, we are most excited about the new submission system, are you?

As Brenna Hiller from vg247.com (sourced from joystiq.com) recently reported, players don’t actually have direct control over the actual matches, but they are able to guide their fighters through training. As the press release (seen here) notes, this is the first official MMA-based Facebook game.

The UFC Undisputed Fight Nation game will allow players to train their moves and compete against others, as well as having the ability to share all their results on the popular social networking website. According to Tamoor Hussain at CVG, the game also comes with a management feature.

The management element to the game gives players the opportunity to compete against some of the most renowned fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As the player progresses through their UFC career, they unlock items such as new training camps and extra skill points.
