We have a word of warning for those of you who are close to maxing out your PS3′s hard drive. If you are getting Ghost Recon: Future Soldier which has just launched in the US, you’ll probably want to be aware that it comes with a mandatory 6GB+ install.

You would have thought that Ubisoft given the resources they have, would try and minimize the need for mandatory installs as much as possible. However, Future Soldier on PS3 comes with arguably one of the biggest mandatory installs seen since the PS3 launched in 2006.

The exact install needed is 6.35GB, so make sure you have the space saved on your HDD before inserting the game disc. For those that are wondering, the Xbox 360 version of the game also has a pre-game HDD install, but unlike the PS3 this one is optional so you don’t need to install it if you don’t want to.

If you want to pick up the digital version of this game instead and happen to have a subscription to PSN+, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s a 15% discount in place which is nice – otherwise it is available for a whopping £50 for buyers in the UK.

For those that have already spent some time with the game, is it meeting your expectations? In other words, is it a welcome break from Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3, or have you already gone back to those games? We’ve seen some early criticisms of the A.I in campaign mode, so let us know your thoughts on this aspect as well.

We have just given you some important information on trying to get into the PS3 closed beta for DUST 514, but now we switch our attentions to Far Cry 3. Ubisoft has just announced a closed multiplayer beta for the upcoming game and participation will be available for those who pre-order Ghost Recon: Future Soldier at GameStop.

Ghost Recon is set to be released on May 22 in the US, May 25 in the UK and now you have an added incentive to pick it up – in the US anyway. Ordering from GameStop will get you into the multiplayer beta for Far Cry 3, but you will need to be a GameStop PowerUp Rewards member though as well.

Far Cry 3 itself won’t be releasing until September this year, but the beta will be available this Summer – no specified date yet. Thanks to a press release, Ubisoft has already given some initial details on what you can expect to see when the beta goes live. There will be support for 16 players, six playable classes and a variety of maps to play on, so plenty of content to keep you busy.

This GameStop offer is obviously only available to customers in the US, so we’re guessing that Ubisoft may be planning some sort of similar deal for GAME retailers over in the UK. If you don’t want to pre-order Ghost Recon just to get into the beta, you may want to head to the FarCry 3 Facebook Page here. There is a sweepstakes going on and you can just leave your details to be in with a chance of winning one of 500 beta keys, for Xbox 360 or PS3.

Ubisoft has also said that there will be other chances to enter the beta, so we’ll try and get our hands on some codes for you as well when the time arises. If you have played Far Cry 2 and enjoyed it, give us your expectations of the third game.

If you have already watched the brilliant Avengers movie that is now showing around the globe, you were probably wondering – where is the usual video game to join the movie? Well, perhaps a little later than expected, it is Ubisoft that has now come out, and announced Avengers: Battle for Earth for a 2012 release – but not for the PS3 and PC.

You may be surprised about this, but it looks like this Avengers game will only be coming to the Xbox 360 and Wii U systems. Ubisoft’s Quebec division will be developing the game and it will be based on motion controls and will feature the Marvel Secret Invasion storyline from the comic books.

That means that it won’t feature the Chitauri Alien race that we saw in the film, but rather the Skrulls who you will probably be more familiar with if you have played games such as Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Although initial information from Ubisoft confirms the appearance of Iron Man, Thor, Hulk and Captain America, we may be seeing other familiar faces if Ubisoft follow the direct plot of the comic books.

In light of this, we may even see some of the X-Men in the game, as well as Spiderman himself and members of the Fantastic Four. It seems a bit adventurous that this is a motion control only game, but considering that previous Marvel games by SEGA didn’t do so well, there’s definitely no harm in trying a different formula.

It’s a little bit harsh on PC and PS3 owners though that there will be no version for these platforms. How hard would it have been to develop a PS Move version of the game as well we wonder? The game is expected to be out before the end of the year and we’re guessing that trailers and other information will be shown at E3 2012.

What are your thoughts on this? Did you expect this outcome for the first Avengers game since the movie?

We have a treat for Assassin’s Creed fans now as almost unexpectedly, Ubisoft has come out and released the very first gameplay trailer for Assassin’s Creed 3. Just like all previous media shown for the game so game, it looks absolutely fantastic.

We’re happy that there appears to be a great feeling amongst the community with regards to the next Assassin’s Creed 3 game. Ubisoft may be trying hard to achieve the same amount of popularity with their Ghost Recon franchise, but it looks like they really have hit their stride with Assassin’s Creed 3.

So far we’re yet to see any negative reaction to the game, based on screenshots and the last trailer shown for the game. Now we get a first glimpse at actual gameplay graphics for the next title and it still looks top notch. Some of the close-up kills look really brutal and despite the fact that the game takes place during the American revolution, we see a short clip where Connor is basically free running through an apartment – it looks great.

It looks like Ubisoft won’t be holding back on the violence either, which will probably be very pleasing to Assassin’s Creed veterans. Be prepared for a lot of gruesome stealth kills using tomahawks, daggers and whatever else Connor can get hold of in that period of history.

Has there ever been more anticipation for an Assassin’s Creed game like we’re seeing here? As we mentioned above, it’s nice to see Ubisoft getting a bit of positive limelight for a change, especially after dodgy games such as the Michael Jackson Experience – sorry.

Watch the trailer below for yourself and let us know your initial thought on it. Has Assassin’s Creed 3 turned into a day-one purchase for you, based on the new gameplay? The game is out October 31st.

If some recent pictures are to be believed, a sequel to arguably the best 2D platformer in years is on the way. We’re talking about Rayman Origins of course and it looks like Ubisoft have a secret new game in the works.

The original Rayman Origins has been given a new lease of life thanks to its appearance on the PS Vita and in our opinion, it’s probably the best game on the system right now.

The game may have not had the best success in terms of overall sales, but there’s no doubt that Ubisoft’s gorgeous platformer has a cult following and it’s probably on this basis alone that it looks like a sequel is on the way.

A survey has been discovered online and it claims that a new Rayman Origins game is coming along with new features. Arkenford are the company behind the survey and they have teased that the new game will include things like castles, ghosts, vampires, greek gods and even dragons!

Another feature specifically mentioned is four player ‘drop in / drop out’ co-op, which you’ll probably be familiar with if you have played the excellent new Super Mario Bros game on the Wii. We just hope that these co-op features make their way to the Vita this time, as that was one area which was severely lacking aside from the campaign mode.

Dare we say it, but is this another planned E3 announcement that has now been leaked? After all the leaks regarding a new God of War game, we have a feeling that Sony may have been pushed into revealing the game early – The same result may happen again with the mysterious ‘PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale’ game.

Either way, we hope that this survey is real as a new Rayman Origins game is surely great news. Are you still playing the PS Vita version at the moment? Would you agree that it is the best 2D platformer since some of the classics on the SNES and Megadrive?

We have some important news for those of you planning to pick up the PC version of Assassin’s Creed 3. Ubisoft has confirmed that there will be support for mouse and keyboard, but they apparently recommend players on PC to use a controller instead.

In a surprising revelation, Ubisoft’s Alex Hutchinson, creative director for Assassin’s Creed 3 has spoken in a recent interview with GameSpy on how they are ‘not planning to invest’ in a keyboard and mouse setup for the PC Version of the game.

While there will definitely be support for this, he went on to say that using a controller for the PC version will be more ideal. Naturally those who played Assassin’s Creed 2 on PC using a mouse and keyboard will object to this, but at the end of the day – the option will still be there to use mouse and keyboard if you prefer.

PC users are still in the dark on when their version will actually release. Ubisoft has committed to an October release on the Xbox 360 and PS3, but we could see a reality where the PC version actually releases around the same time as the confirmed Nintendo Wii U release.

Combine this with the infamous DRM-issues involving Assassin’s Creed games on the PC, it does seem to suggest that Ubisoft are making no secret of their priorities towards console versions.

Special editions for games has become the normal trend as of late, but considering that gamers are only usually treated to one special version of a game upon release, you’ll be surprised and delighted to hear that Ubisoft are making no fewer than three premium editions of Assassin’s Creed 3 available.

The game is due out in October on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, with a Nintendo Wii U version also confirmed to be in the pipeline. It looks like you’re in for a difficult decision to make though, as Ubisoft has offered up some tasty goodies for hardcore fans who are looking for that little bit extra.

Aside from the standard Assassin’s Creed 3 retail version, you’ll also be able to pick up a Special Edition, a Join or Die Edition and the most premium of all, the Freedom Edition. The Special Edition contains an extra single-player mission on top of the standard edition, while the Join or Die version contains an Assassin’s Creed medallion, a George Washington notebook, one extra single-player mission and also one multiplayer package called The Sharpshooter which grants you a special in-game title.

Finally, the Freedom Edition is the best of the lot and like the limited edition of Skyrim, you’ll get a high quality figurine for your money – this one being a 24cm model of main protagonist Connor. Aside from all of the goodies featured in the Join or Die edition, you’ll also get a steel book case art, a lithograph and an extra single-player mission on top, so two in total.

There’s no official pricing yet for the three packs as they will vary depending on retailers, but we have already noticed that some retailers already have a few listings online. UK retailer Play has put up a £57.99 price for the Join or Die edition of the game, while EB Games in Australia are claiming that they have an ‘exclusive’ on the Freedom edition and that you’ll have to pay $128 for it. Check the respective links for full details on both.

Will you be forking out for the Freedom edition to get that figurine of Connor for your collection? $128 is a lot of money for some though, so let us know which version you are intending to get. It may be worth holding out a while before you pre-order as better deals will probably become available in the weeks to come.

If you were under any doubt that Assassin’s Creed 3 is going one of this year’s most impressive games from a visual point of view, some new screenshots released early this week once again solidifies this.

After Ubisoft unveiled an initial batch of screenshots for the upcoming game, we thought at the time that this is the finest that an Assassin’s Creed game has ever looked. However, there is one new screenshot in particular that has been released which is nothing short of mindblowing, and just shows how far Ubisoft have developed their graphics engine since AC1. The image we’re talking about is another wilderness shot and shows the new hero Connor dealing with members of the British army with a beautiful backdrop.

The screenshots have been uploaded to leak specialists All Games Beta and trace back to Spanish site GremiodelasSombras. We’re guessing that Ubisoft are planning to make these official soon, but since they have now been plastered all over the internet, we may even see high resolution versions of the shots later on today.

There’s six new images in total, with each showing off a different location setting within the American Revolution storyline. There’s even a fantastic shot showing Connor in a canoe, which also blew us away when we saw it for the first time. Obviously these are not going to be in-game graphics, but we’ll be happy seeing this kind of quality during cutscenes.

Let’s hope it won’t be too long until we see the very first gameplay trailer for the game. We have a feeling that Ubisoft may keep us waiting until E3 2012 for this, but we don’t mind waiting as long as they keep these frequent screenshots coming. Check out all the images over at All Games Beta – we’ll add them here when Ubisoft has given the official go ahead.

We told you that Assassin’s Creed 3 was due to be unveiled by Ubisoft very soon and we’re pleased to say that the game has finally been given its world premiere. The first teaser trailer has now been revealed, as well as one big surprise that you may not have been expecting to see.

As expected, Assassin’s Creed 3 is being developed for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC but Ubisoft has confirmed the surprising news that the game will also be coming to Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U console as well. A date of October 31 2012 has been set in place for the console and PC versions, but it remains to be seen if this relates to the Wii U version as well – we doubt it.

A trailer released once again confirms that the game will take place during the American Revolution, with the main character now revealed as Ratohnhake:ton (pronounced Ra-doon-ha-gay-doo), or Connor for short. He has been introduced as a Native American, with his mother being American but having an English background due to his father.

We see much more of the forest elements of the game that we first saw in some leaked screenshots yesterday, and there’s one scene in particular where we see Connor almost ‘free running’ on some trees which will probably get a lot of you talking. The game looks fantastic in our opinion, although we’ve read that some of you are not too impressed by some of the facial models seen on some of the characters.

With a Wii U version on the way too – does that perhaps suggest that it could end up being the best version compared to the other three? Nobody knows for sure what hardware will be included in the Wii U, so we have a sneaky suspicion that the Wii U version is going to be one to look out for.

Check out the trailer below and let us know your initial impressions of the game. Still pumped up for it or not?

We are just hours away from the grand unveiling of the next Assassin’s Creed game and for those that just cannot wait until the countdown ends, it looks like some of the material that Ubisoft are intending to reveal has appeared online early.

We told you in our last report that Game Informer were planning to unveil a ton of information on the game as soon as Ubisoft unveil the game first later today. Assassin’s Creed 3 will be the game on the cover of their next issue, but screenshots which are thought to be contained in the magazine are now available for viewing.

First of all, you’ll be pleased to hear that the game looks absolutely lovely. We know that the game will be set during the American Revolution and screenshots we’ve seen show the mystery protagonist in unfamiliar territory, such as forests and high up in the trees whilst sneaking on campsites below in spectacular fashion.

We admit we were a bit skeptical after we first heard about the game being set during the American Revolution, but after seeing these first images – we can’t wait to see some gameplay footage and more details on the new main character. It really does look like a breath of fresh air for the series and you’ll probably be surprised as well once you’ve seen the pictures. We won’t upload them here, but if you want an early look at the game, you can check out the images over at All Games Beta here. Don’t forget that a full reveal is expected in a matter of hours once the countdown reaches 0 on the Ubisoft site.

Is Assassin’s Creed 3 a day-one buy for you after seeing these images, or are you still not impressed?
