Around 54,000 of the devices, which are voiced by Jeremy Clarkson, had already been manufactured, but it appears that is to be the last of them according to PC Advisor, due to an infringement on the rules of a contract which prevents the shows presenters from endorsing any type of product related to motoring, including TomTom satellite navigation systems. In order to get around this embarrassing situation, any profits which are earned from the existing devices that have already been made will now be donated to Children in Need.

Plans that had been made to allow existing TomTom sat-nav owners to download Clarkson’s voice have also now been scrapped. For those Top Gear fans who will be left disappointed, here is some of the amusing sarcastic quotes which are programmed into the themed sat-nav devices that you will be missing out on: ‘Keep left – if you’re not sure which side left is you really shouldn’t be on the road’, ‘After 700 yards, assuming this car can make it that far’ and ‘you have reached your destination, with the aid of 32 satellites and me… well done.’

The BBC were all for the production of these devices until they realized the problem, which forced them to change their minds. Due to the thought that these devices would be very popular amongst fans in the run up to Christmas, they were being rushed out, which is why so many were able to be produced before production was halted. Clarkson is reported to have had no part in the charity deal set up and will not be making any profits from the remaining devices sold.

It features all the normal features you would expect from a TomTom Go Live sat nav system; QuickGPSFix technology, TomTom Weather, TomTom Places, the TomTom Speed Camera service and a year’s worth of their flagship HD Traffic technology, except it has been given a few added extras including Top Gear raceway and race track locations built into the points of interest database, themed icons, shut-down and start-up and the choice of either having the device in Stig mode, making it as silent as the mysterious character or having Jeremy Clarkson’s voice narrating.

In a recent article we brought our readers back in May, TomTom was introducing their new Go Live 800 series, which included the 820 and 825 models. These models provided a year’s worth of LIVE services including the HD Traffic technology detailing accurate traffic data, such as alternative routes and incident reports every 2 minutes.

Corinne Vigreux, TomTom’s Managing Director calls it ‘the ultimate driving companion’ for Top Gear fans, insisting it ‘is perfect for drivers who love the open road.’ According to Expert Reviews, this Top Gear themed TomTom sat nav will include voice control and command for the address entry, Bluetooth hands-free calling and features more maps than the previous models. It will cost £179.99 and is on sale now, but is only available in the UK exclusively at Halfords.

The Peel P-50 measures 52.8 inches in length, 39 inches in width and 47.2 inches high. Now lets compare this to the Wind UP, 51 inches, 26 inches wide and 41 inches high. Some might say that the latter is just a toy, and you would not be far from the truth, as it has been made from a child’s coin-operated ride that you see outside stores.

Do not let that confuse you though, as it is a fully working car and is licensed to go on our streets. There is not much to say about this vehicle, but we do know that it has been reinforced with a steel frame and has a quad bike engine. This Postman Pat ride will reach a top speed of 37mph.

Not only has the Peel P-50 been beaten by a Postman’s toy van in size, but also in speed as well. The P-50 can only reach a top speed of 10mph, now this will upset Clarkson, as we all know that he is all about speed – wonder if he will take the new record holder around the BBC offices in London?

Although these cars are cool for the fun factor, we have to understand that they are not very practical. So what about those looking for the world’s smallest production cars that can serve a purpose?

The best looking for us has to be the Lumeneo Smera, which is a French car but does have one pro and con. The pro is that it is electric and the con is that it costs $33,000. You can always rely on the Indian’s to come up with an alternative, and the G-Wiz is proof of that. Those in both India and the UK can get their hands on these small vehicles, but sadly not for those in the U.S.

However, the coolest of them all has to be the Kandi Coco. Not only is it small, but it is a convertible as well. The best part is that when the vehicle was first launched back at the beginning of 2009 it only cost Oklahoma residents $900 thanks to government incentives.

There you have it, a few of the best small cars on the planet, but are they really that practical?

This has to be one of my favorites shows on at the moment, I just love the specials when thy have to take part in a challenge.

Something that is really worth noting is the fact that Forza has forged a partnership with UK company Top Gear. Anyone that watches the program knows all to well, the 3 hosts just get up to no good. They will do things like drive white vans around their hand made course whilst the “Stig”chases them in a police style vehicle. You can view this a at the bottom of the article. This is the sort of mischief that these overgrown kids get into. We did manage to find a little more information on the partnership here, but i am sure we will learn more soon.
