Lenovo has revealed details regarding its new X121e model notebook therefore we felt the need to tell you all about its tech specs, price and features. As you would expect it doesn’t look much different to other Lenovo offering, however its 11.6-inch display ensures that it is quite a lot smaller and lighter than other models.

Lenovo are offering both AMD Fusion or Intel Core i3 processors. One reviewer from Vr-zone says that they find the AMD models disappointing. In their opinion, this model will not be an upgrade from the previous X120e model. Therefore at first glance, the Intel version maybe the option to choose, this gives you the i3-2357M CPU paired with the UM67 chipset.

There are plenty of RAM and storage options to choose from, including a low-end 320GB HDD or perhaps a faster, quieter and less power-hungry 128GB SSD, as for RAM if you choose an Intel processor you get a least 2GB, with support for up to 4GB, the basic AMD model will only give you 1GB RAM and a 250GB HDD.

The laptops will all come with 1366×768 resolution 11.6-inch screen, three USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, HDMI port, SDXC Card Reader, D-Sub Connector, Webcam, 3.5mm Headphone Jack, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. It has been mentioned that there may be some models that will receive Bluetooth 3.0, 5GHz Wi-Fi and WiMax/3G the only additional thing which we would have liked to have seen is a USB 3.0 port.

Some models will feature mediocre 3-cell batteries which will offer 3.8 hours with the Intel processor or between 3.5 – 4.1 hours with the AMD APUs. The notebooks that pack the 6-cell batteries will give the user over 7 hours of battery life whether they opt for an Intel or AMD model.

The price of the new ThinkPads will vary depending on model and any customisable features that have been added on by the user upon purchase. The prices are a little mixed up from different sources but Vr-Zone say that the prices start around $1000 for the C-50 model and $710 for the E-350 model. The Intel Core i3-2357M model’s price starts at $1,290 with 4GB RAM, Bluetooth and a 3G modem.

Hopefully these new offerings will show up on Lenovo’s website soon so they can confirm exactly how much you will have to pay for each model and what you are getting for your money, we done our best to deliver the specs and options in an easy-to-read format, however refuting sources did not make this easy.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 has been put under the spotlight and given a thorough review by the folks at Engadget, they check out some of the better aspects and some of the low points to the new ThinkPad which prospective buyers will find useful.

The new ThinkPads will come with a wide variety of options in terms of specs, buyers will be able to choose from HDD’s ranging from 160GB to 320GB of storage or they can select a SSD ranging from 80GB to 160GB of storage. The laptops will come with up to 8GB DDR3 and CPU’s can branch across from Intel Core i3 to Intel Core i7 processors.

Engadget described the new laptops as having the same style and look as previous Thinkpad models, however being packed with all the latest technology in computer hardware. They gave it a very good review which can be read here while an image to look at a full breakdown of the specs for the laptops can be seen here.

Engadget seemed blown away by the fact that the Thinkpad X220′s optional extended battery could offer 15 hours of battery life, even the standard battery would allow for up to 8 hours of battery life .The extended battery costs an additional $179, however there is no other ultraportable which comes close to this in terms of battery life, therefore $179 seems like a relatively small price to pay.

Overall the message seems good from the review and the specs are equally impressive, but is it about time that Lenovo redesigned their Thinkpad’s design, let’s face it they do look quite dated.
