Yesterday afternoon we announced that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings game was receiving an update, which as we mentioned at the time was due to arrive sometime last night. However, Wednesday night came and went without any sign of the much-anticipated patch.

According to a recent eurogamer.net article by Robert Purchese, the developer has since updated The Witcher 2 game’s website, in order to inform fans of what’s going on. The website says that although the update is ready, certain issues have caused a delay in the 1.1 patch’s release.

There appear to be some problems with the server infrastructure, which has made downloading DLC impossible. The developer apologized to the fans for not meeting their target of releasing the patch last night. Patch 1.1 is aimed at fixing a number of bugs within The Witcher 2 game.

As we mentioned yesterday, the upcoming update will also boost performance by up to 30 percent, and fix the Troll Trouble DLC download. Besides announcing the 1.1 patch, CD Projekt also revealed that a second patch addressing further problems would be arriving at some stage next week.

Were you wondering what happened to The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings patch 1.1 last night?

The next installment in The Witcher series has been announced and we can bring you details about the specs needed to play the new title which comes out May 17. News from Eurogamer grants us the information for what minimum specs you will need and also the recommended specs.

The game will require at least an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD equivalent processor to run on and requires either a Nvidia GeForce 8800 (512MB) graphics card or the ATI equivalent to display smooth graphics whilst playing. Your Computer will need 1GB memory if running Windows XP or 2GB memory if you run Windows Vista or Windows 7 and the game requires a fairly large chunk of your hard drive, asking 8GB for the install files and a further 8GB for bonus materials.

However these are only the minimum specs and so the recommended specs require more power from your PC. The Witcher 2 would run much better on an Intel Quad Core or AMD equivalent processor and will will look better with either the Nvidia GeForce 260 (1GB) or Radeon HD 4850 (1GB) graphics card (or better). They say it is better to have 3GB memory if running Windows XP or 4GB memory if you have Windows Vista or Windows 7 and will require at least 16GB of storage.

The rumored 16 possible endings to the story probably accounts for such a lot of storage space being needed, what spec PC will you run The Witcher 2 on? Will you upgrade your PC solely for this game? Let us know in the comments section below.
