Adam Kicinski, who is the President of CD Projekt RED S.A. has stated that delays for the game are important as it is not a pure straightforward port of the PC version and has been described as “an adaptation of the game to the new platform.” By this, they mean that although the game will be relatively similar to the PC version, a number of significant improvements and changes are cited as reasons for the game’s delay.”The extra time will allow us to polish the title to perfection,” Kicinski states.

Although CD Projekt RED S.A.are working hard to get the title just right for Xbox 360, there are some other issues that are causing the delay. The developer is currently locked in legal disputes with Namco Bandai – The Witcher 2′s PC distributor. The dispute states that Namco Bandai are allegedly refusing to pay an excess of 1 million euros in agreed fees to the developer for distribution rights in Western Europe, Central and South America and Asia-Pacific.

Kicinski thinks that they are doing the right thing in making the delayed release date public to make sure that there is no confusion when the original release date draws near.

More details of the upcoming Xbox 360 title will be revealed as the game approaches Q1 2012, even with a planned preview to be expected at Gamescom 2011 which takes place on August 17-21 2011.

Back in June, we revealed that after much debate, The Witcher 2 would be coming to Xbox 360, even after there were rumours that it would not happen. A PS3 version is also been talked about, but we won’t know for sure until at least after the Xbox 360 version hits shelves next year.

It now looks as though they may be in luck, as according to Wesley Yin-Poole over at eurogamer.net, the developer has hinted that a PS3 version could well happen. However, they also suggested that they would not start making it until they have finished creating the Xbox 360 version.

Senior producer Tomasz Gop said that the Red engine is in fact capable of doing all three platforms: the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Although the studio is currently focused on the Xbox 360 version, Gop said that it doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t want to work on the PS3 later on down the line.

Gop went on to explain that the switch from PC to Xbox 360 is pretty straightforward, as they already have people on board that have previously worked on Xbox 360 games. However, he also stated that they are currently looking for a good PlayStation 3 developer, so the chance of a PS3 version is looking hopeful.

The good news is that the new 1.2 patch / DLC should be arriving at some point today. According to Mark Serrels over at kotaku.com.au, the upcoming patch not only fixes a number of issues that players have been reporting since the game was released, but it also adds all of the previous DLC.

It also provides gamers with a brand new (free) DLC package titled “Barbers and Coiffeuses,” which enables players to take advantage of both barbershop and hairstyling services. Gamers will also find that the new 1.2 patch has added a new option to the game menu, which enables them to delete game saves.

The patch has also added support for Logitech G35 headphones and other USB headsets with on-board sound cards, made it so that the analog sticks on gamepads work correctly in the GUI panels, and fixed an issue that prevented advancement to the next level at the beginning of Chapter 3.

According to Robert Purchese over at eurogamer.net, the developer is planning on releasing the 1.1 update sometime this evening. They’ve also revealed that a second patch is on the way next week. Both the retail and digital versions of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings will be receiving the patch.

Once they have downloaded the upcoming patch, players should find that both game installation and activation is simpler and more reliable. The update has also fixed the free Troll Trouble DLC download. This is now included in the patch, so players will not have to download and install it separately.

The 1.1 update has also made a few performance improvements to the game. There should now be a 5% to 30% better framerate, and many users should experience faster game loading times. However, this does depend on the player’s individual systems and game versions.

Gamers will also find that the upcoming patch has now removed a bug that prevented players from completing the ‘Blood Curse’ quest, added the option to invert the mouse and fixed random crashes that occurred on some systems, especially after saving or loading saves.

We have embedded the video at the end of this post, the easter egg is nothing amazing, however it is funny none-the-less. If you watch the video you will see that Altair has attempted a leap of faith from a high perch, however instead of landing safely in a wagon full of hay, he has instead missed the hay and hit the deck.

GameRant spotted the easter egg and from what we can see you do not have to carry out any side missions to see the easter egg, you have just got check out every nook and cranny of a map to see what has been hidden, we wonder if there are any more easter eggs in the game.

OK, so you might have guessed that it is Fable III that is a bit of a let down, as the stories are now starting to look their age. One would have assumed that the creators would have added something fresh, but they seem to have let us down. IGN has only given it a 6 out of 10, which to us is a bit of a flop. However, we should never take one persons opinion, although some of the comments coming in do seem to support IGN’s review. The worrying thing is, the C version is said to be better than the Xbox 360 version.

Fable III for the PC scored 8.0 for the sound, but was let down poor gameplay and no lasting appeal. As we mentioned above The Witcher 2 scored much better, with Bitgamer giving it 95 percent out of 100. The developers seemed to have made the game less complex while also managing to fix all of the flaws from the first game.

There are some games like this that are too afraid to punish you when you get things wrong; not this game though. If you make a mistake you will know about it. Overall it is easy to tell which is the better game of the two, but do you share in these findings?

GameReactor’s review can be seen here, they score the game 9/0 in terms of graphics, gameplay, sound and lasting appeal, which results in an overall score of 9/10, they especially compliment the game’s stunning graphics. Apparently the developer’s attention to detail is great and the game’s lighting is awesome, there are some slight rendering problems, however on the whole visually the game can barely be faulted. As for the story it is said to be gripping and full of twists and turns.

Bit-Tech’s detailed review can be seen here, again they compliment the game heavily and score it 95/100. They say that The Witcher 2 is one of the most involving and exciting RPGs they have seen in a long time, if you choose to hack and slash your way through the game without concentrating on the story it would be a travesty. The bottom line seems to be the more you play and explore the more you will enjoy, once immersed in the story line you “will find an experience that’ll be tough to beat”.

According to Mark Fajardo over at justpushstart.com, the day-one patch will fix a number of glitches and quests, as well as a bit more. For example, the patch is said to have added new auto-saves in important places within the game, such as before a fight with Arachas, Letho and Draug.

It should also contain minor QTE fixes; a number of major balance fixes, on screen fixes (items descriptions and journal etc), quite a few fixes for quests and quest markers, audio mix fixes and several location fixes – environments improvements, lights, effects and objects collisions.

The patch also includes a number of visual fixes to blackscreens, fade-outs, cut scenes and in scenes. Shops, crafting and alchemy have also received improvements. Players will also find a number of camera fixes – collisions with NPCs, collisions with objects and combat area improvements.
