We have some potentially great news for Zelda fans now as it has been rumored over the weekend that Nintendo has two unannounced Zelda games on the way for their 3DS handheld. We have an image to show you now which appears to back up these claims, but it could also be the result of a well made photoshop.

Some fans may still be getting their teeth stuck into the excellent Ocarina of Time 3D on Nintendo’s glasses-free 3D handheld, but an image which we have to show you suggests that the company will be following up with not one but two titles.

The image in question shows logo art for two games going by the titles of ‘The Legend of Zelda: Fire Prophecy’ and ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ice Prophecy’, translated from Japanese. Before we go any further though, it is worth pointing out that the origin of the picture came from 4Chan, so we’ll let you know make up your own minds on that in terms of validity.

We will say though that both images look highly professional, so we’ll have to take our hats off to the creator if these images prove to be fake – well done sir. On a more interesting note, it isn’t the first time though that Nintendo has launched simultaneous Zelda titles on a single platform. The famed Gameboy Color was once the recipient of LoZ: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages way back in 2001. Those two games received great reviews we may add and if its true that Nintendo are planning simultaneous 3DS releases for these two mystery Zelda titles, then fans are obviously in for a huge treat.

Hopefully we’ll hear more on these rumors as we don’t really want to go on too further in case we’ve been the victim of another photoshop mastermind. Look at the image for yourself, courtesy of ScrewAttack and let us know how authentic you think it is. Fire and Ice ‘Prophecy’ certainly sounds awesome though – fingers crossed guys.

We have some fantastic news for Zelda fans now, especially if you own a Nintendo 3DS. The company has just confirmed that a brand new, original Zelda game is in the works and that it will be the next title to release after Skyward Sword, which lands on the Wii towards the end of this month.

We’re not sure about you, but this has come completely out of the blue, especially so soon after the remake of Ocarina of Time 3D that released on 3DS recently. Bring it on we say, and it is so refreshing to hear that Nintendo intends to make this an original title, rather than another remake.

Eiji Aunoma, series producer of Legend of Zelda, spoke in a recent interview with MyGames, and hear is what he had to say about the new, unannounced Zelda game for the 3DS, as reported from NintendoEverything:

”We are already preparing a new game, a game in the series for the Nintendo 3DS, but don’t think that it is a direct sequel to the Zelda titles released on DS. We are talking about a new game, but it takes much of what has been done on previous handhelds. The next Zelda game on 3DS will be original.”

The news will be met with delight for Zelda fans, and it may even cause those who do not have a 3DS yet, to go out and get one depending on how development of the game turns out.

Considering that this will be an original, what initial ideas do you have for the game at the moment? There is a big hint that the game will take elements from previous handheld Zelda titles, so will we be seeing a hybrid game of past titles such as Link’s Awakening, Four Swords and dare we even say it, a Link to the Past? Having said that, we hope that Nintendo gives a full remake to A Link to The Past as that game on the SNES is considered to be the best Zelda game in history, and one of the best games of all time, period.

What are your thoughts on this new original Zelda game for the 3DS, what ideas would you offer to Nintendo?

We first wrote about Nintendo’s much anticipated action-adventure game The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword all the way back in June last year, when the developer announced that it would be arriving sometime in 2011. Although we’ve written a few other articles about the game since then, we’ve not really provided that many details.

That’s all about to change however, as according to a recent article by Greg Boe over at Nintendocharged.com, Eiji Aonuma – the producer of The Legend of Zelda series – revealed a few more details about the game during an interview with the Nintendo Power magazine. One of the first subjects spoken about was regarding the game’s development.

When asked about how the development is going, Aonuma said that the game is in the final stages. In fact, Aonuma said that the game’s creator Shigeru Miyamoto has been working with the development team to help put the finishing touches on The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword game. He also revealed that localization would be underway soon.

Aonuma went on to say that as far as this game’s story is concerned, there is one big point that makes it a different experience than with other Zelda games. In previous titles in the series, the Master Sword has been something that Link searches for, finds and uses to destroy Gannon. However, this time the story is more focused on the creation of the Master Sword.

Another subject touched upon in the interview was regarding the relationship between Link and Zelda in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. As Aonuma notes, their relationship is one of being great childhood friends, having grown up together in Skyloft. Once a player starts progressing through the story, they will begin to discover a different side to Zelda.

Zelda’s harp does in fact come into Link’s hands during the course of the new game, and the player has to use it to find something important. In other words, gamers will have to play the harp to use it. Aonuma was also asked a question about where the Skyward Sword game falls in the timeline, and whether it comes between the Minish Cap and Ocarina of Time.

According to Aonuma, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword does come before the Ocarina of Time game. This of course means that Gannon will not be making an appearance in the upcoming game. As for the birds, Aonuma said that they wouldn’t just be for racing; they will also be used for travelling to specific areas. You can read more over at nintendocharged.com.

You can view the new Comic-Con 2011 trailer over at YouTube. Are you looking forward to playing The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword?

We are just a few hours away from Nintendo’s big E3 keynote conference. Microsoft has had their turn, now it is up to Nintendo to deliver some goodies to millions of gamers around the world. Are you ready?

It is fair to say that most eyes will be on the new Nintendo 3DS handheld, along with solid details on the highly anticipated new Zelda title for the Nintendo Wii. If we are really lucky, we’ll get release dates for both products at the end of their keynote.

Who knows though, Nintendo might be planning some other surprises that no-one knows about yet. I’m definitely looking forward to the Zelda part of the show though – what about you?

The 3DS will be nice, but I dont think it will rival the Sony PSP2 – I’m throwing that out there. Don’t forget you can tune into Nintendo’s E3 keynote later on, check out our links here for a live video stream.

What are your expectations of Nintendo’s E3 keynote?

This is the news that Nintendo Wii owners have been waiting for. It looks like we have legitimate details on the upcoming Zelda game for the Wii. One website has released a collection of details as well as a supposed title for the game.

As reported from VG247, the new details have come courtesy of Zelda Informer who states that the new title will simply be called ‘The Legend of Zelda’ and will have no subtitle.

Apparently the story is set 100 years before the events of Ocarina of Time, and the storyline involves learning how the master sword was first created. A character named Zordiana is set to play a main part in the game, and you’ll be pleased to know that the hookshot tool comes with all-new abilities.

There will be two levels of difficulty – these are ‘normal mode’ and ‘hero-mode, with tougher enemies. There is a lot more details over at VG247, make sure you read the whole thing.

Do you think the details are genuine or not? It seems to us like they are, and Zelda Informer has gone on record to say that the details are 99.99% accurate and Nintendo will be revealing the same details tomorrow.

Their keynote starts tomorrow morning, we’ll find out the truth then.
