The biggest thing being there was not enough quality titles available at launch. Now we can tell you that Zelda helps the Nintendo 3DS zap past 4M sales in the US.

Nintendo has officially announced that it has already reached the figure of four million 3DS consoles sold in the US. According to an article on SlashGear the company has also enjoyed records on three of its popular gaming titles as well. To reach this figure in the time it did means the 3DS has sold faster than the Wii did during its first nine months of being available.

The company revealed that Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, and Zelda had each passed one million sales in the US already. Meanwhile the 3DS was still outsold by the soon to be replaced Will last year in the US, which managed to shift 4.5 million units.

Gamers are still snapping up the older versions of the DS as well with over 3.4 million units being snapped up in the US during 2011. The total units sold so far in the US have now reached 51 million, with the Wii sitting at 39 million.

The 3DS saw it sales fall away not long after being launched that lead to a dramatic price cut. This certainly did the trick as the cut saw sales in the US jump by 260 percent. We have reported before that the 3DS was on course to beat the sales figures that the original DS saw during its first year.

Are you surprised the 3DS is doing so well now?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Facing Limited Release http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/05/02/the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-3d-facing-limited-release/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/05/02/the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-3d-facing-limited-release/#comments Mon, 02 May 2011 15:13:46 +0000 Tina Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=129291 If you’re one of the many Nintendo 3DS owners that are thinking about purchasing the much-awaited ‘The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’ game when it arrives in stores in June, then it looks like you might have to get in there quick as the game is facing a limited release.

According to Anoop Gantayat over at andriasang.com, a recent post on the Sinobi.blog website has revealed that the very first shipment of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time game is going to be extremely small. In other words, if you want the new title, it’s best to pre-order it.

The allotments will be small for all retailers, no matter how big or small the retailer is. What’s more is that Nintendo will not allow retailers to place orders for the upcoming action-adventure game, which is due to release on June 16th in Japan, June 17th in the UK and June 19th in the US.

So why is Nintendo being so strict with its shipments? The Sinobi.blog writer believes that it could well be an attempt to avoid the situation that occurred with the Zelda: Spirit Tracks game on the Nintendo DS, in which large amounts of the game were found in bargain bins shortly after launch.

Are you thinking about buying The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo 3DS?

Zelda Ocarina Of Time 3D, 3DS Release Date Coming Soon http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/04/01/zelda-ocarina-of-time-3d-3ds-release-date-coming-soon/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/04/01/zelda-ocarina-of-time-3d-3ds-release-date-coming-soon/#comments Fri, 01 Apr 2011 09:59:44 +0000 Jamie Pert http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=127228 Back in January we posted some release date information regarding The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, we still have no solid release date, however we do have an update on the situation.

Recently Nintendo UK’s James Honeywell spoke to CVG about the Nintendo 3DS and Ocarina of Time 3D, he says how people have shown a lot of interest in this title (unsurprisingly), he also goes on to say “we’ll be making an announcement fairly soon so people will be able to find out when they’ll be able to go and get it”.

Obviously the term “fairly soon” can be interpreted in many ways, however it does at least mean that the developers are pretty happy with their progress so far and are confident enough to say that a release date will soon be public, we will just have wait for a date to be set.

As we hear more about the game’s release date we will have to keep you posted. Will you buy The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D on its release date? How long will you wait? Let us know in the comments section below.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D: New Screens from GDC 2011 http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/03/legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-3d-new-screens-from-gdc-2011/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/03/03/legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-3d-new-screens-from-gdc-2011/#comments Thu, 03 Mar 2011 19:36:17 +0000 Jamie Pert http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=124167 GDC 2011 has treated us with some real gems so far, covering all things that gamers want to hear and see. But believe it or not, the Nintendo event has been one of the largest, mostly due to the new Super Mario game for the 3DS and some juicy new information on Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, which now has a release date.

Those in attendance were treated to a new trailer of the new Zelda sequel on the Wii, Skyward Sword, but the real news came to North American fans of the original Ocarina of Time when a release date of June 7 was finally revealed. The date also magically coincides with the Nintendo keynote at E3 this year. Coincidence? I think not.

But that wasn’t all the news that were getting on the subject of Zelda. In the past, gamers have criticized the game’s visual aspects from a remake point of view. New screenshots and images were today released which should put most of those doubts to bed, showing that many polygons and colors have been added which have never been seen or experienced before.

A whole collection of new screenshots can be found via 3DS Buzz, who have the original story, but we have grabbed a few of the best looking ones for you to peruse at the bottom of this article.

Are you looking forward to the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D?

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS Release Date Info http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/01/26/the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-3ds-release-date-info/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2011/01/26/the-legend-of-zelda-ocarina-of-time-3ds-release-date-info/#comments Wed, 26 Jan 2011 16:25:52 +0000 Jamie Pert http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=119922 Now that the Nintendo 3DS release date and price has been announced I am sure that people are wondering what games to buy, hardcore Nintendo fans will undoubtedly be interested in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS, now we have some information regarding its release date.

Sadly we do not have a set-in-stone date, however we can confirm that it will not be out until after E3 2011 (June 6-9), Nintendo’s president and chief operating officer suggested that Zelda would not be rushed and will arrive when it is ready, he also said that there is no chance of it arriving during the 3DS launch period (March to early June).

If you ever played The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64 you won’t mind waiting for the release as rushing it could ruin it, so far things are sounding promising, especially as the game has been overhauled to show of the new handhelds 3D visuals and fully utilize its dual-screen setup.

As we hear more regarding a release date for the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time we will keep you posted, I think it would be fair to say that a July release date is likely, to read more about Zelda’s 3DS release check out VideoGamer.
