When Square Enix announced a release date for the much anticipated PSP title The 3rd Birthday earlier this month, it was only the US launch date that was mentioned. However, it now appears that the developer has recently revealed the European release date.

According to a recent article over at computerandvideogames.com, the action RPG – the third entry in the Parasite Eve series – will be arriving in UK and European stores on April 1st. As previously mentioned here, gamers in Europe will be able to pick up the “Twisted Edition” of The 3rd Birthday.

The Twisted Edition retail pack will include a 44-page hardback book called “CTI Confidential,” which will be stuffed with concept illustrations and artwork, two deluxe Aya Brea lithograph art prints and a Lightning in Aya Brea costume that will be able to be used in the upcoming Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy game.

As Alex Donaldson over at rpgsite.net noted, the European release date wasn’t the only thing that Square Enix revealed recently. The developer also released a trailer for the upcoming title, which shows off a bit of the game (including the English language voice acting).

You can view the trailer via the rpgsite.net link. Are you looking forward to purchasing The 3rd Birthday game?

The last time we heard anything about Square Enix’s much-anticipated PSP exclusive The 3rd Birthday, was when the developer revealed its spring 2011 release schedule. All we knew at that stage however, was the fact that it would be arriving sometime in the spring.

However, all that appears to have changed now, as Square Enix has just confirmed a US release date. According to a recent article by Sal Romano over at scrawlfx.com, the story-driven RPG is due to hit U.S. stores on March 29th. We’re not quite sure about a European launch date at this stage.

The 3rd Birthday game – which is said to have the feel of a “true” action / RPG hybrid – features strategic gameplay that utilizes the brand new “Overdrive System,” and an all-new new story that takes place in a torn-apart New York City.

While we can’t provide European gamers with a solid launch date, we can bring them good news about the release of the special “Twisted Edition.” As JC Fletcher at joystiq.com reports, the bundle includes a UMD copy of the game, 2 deluxe lithographs, a 48-page “CTI Confidential” art book and an unlock code.

Square Enix has also revealed a few details on The 3rd Birthday’s celebrity voice cast, which includes Yvonne Strahovski – from the TV series Chuck – as the voice of Aya Brea, and Jensen Ackles – best known for his role in Supernatural – voicing the Kyle Madigan character.

We’ve already given our readers an idea of what games are going to be arriving for the PS3 in 2011 and what games they can expect for the Xbox 360 Kinect next year, so it’s only fair that we take a look at some of the titles that are being released for the Sony PSP in 2011.

According to a recent article over at gamer4eva.com, Square Enix has just revealed details on four titles that will be released for the PlayStation Portable during the spring of 2011, including Lord of Arcana, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy and The 3rd Birthday.

Lord of Arcana – which is due to be released in February – is a brand new action game that allows up to four players to team up and fight the powerful creatures of legend, in order to acquire the power of Arcana. The next game to be released is Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together.

The Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together game is a PlayStation Portable reinvention of Strategy RPG. The upcoming title features reworked visuals, a rearranged soundtrack, new character growth mechanics and a brand new Wheel of Fortune system that will add more replay value.

PSP owners can then expect the Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy game to be released. This game offers a mix of RPG depth and fighting game action, and features the most memorable villains and heroes from the popular Final Fantasy video game series.

Last on the list of releases is The 3rd Birthday. If you really enjoy third-person shooters then this thrilling game might be the game for you. This game is said to have incredible visuals, a suspense-filled story behind it, exciting mission and rich weapon customization.

Which Square Enix release interests you the most? Will you be purchasing any of these games for the Sony PSP? As Darryl over at gamingunion.net states, spring 2011 is definitely going to be a great time for fans of RPG games.
