We have some great news for those of you who want to pre-order the new Acer Aspire ICONIA A100 available with Android v3.0 Honeycomb, and the cost of this will make you feel there’s a bargain to be had here.

The 7-inch Android tablet will be released on April 20th and on the market for a steal at £299.99 via Amazon UK. When you translate that to United States money, this is an equivalent of $485, although it’s well known that UK prices are inflated thanks to extra taxes, so expect to pay more like $350 in the US.

The Acer Aspire ICONIA A100 has a capacitive touch screen, a resolution of 1024×600 pixels with a 2 and 5 megapixel camera, a dual-core processor (NVIDIA Tegra 2), available in 3G and Wi-Fi, and these new features let the tablet run 3D graphics processing, and display high-definition video up to 1080p with its NVIDIA processor.

Nicole Scott on Netbook News explains more about the Acer Aspire tablet, including it’s 5 hours of playback battery life with 720p video, and the tablet’s new system known as clear.fi for sharing multimedia files. Have a read of her article here or visit Amazon for more details.

Only a short while ago Evigroup of France advanced its Paddle tablet, and again they’ve come up with an upgraded addition, moving on from the Paddle Pro, with a new version. The SmartPaddle.

Viewing an 11.6-inch screen, using Windows 7, running Intel processor, the original Atom N450 processor with a 64GB SSD, 2GB of RAM 3G and WiFI connectivity. Evigroup is proving a fondness towards Wintel platforms and shows it with this upgraded addition.

At the cost of €1,290 ($1,825) will you dig deep into your pockets?

The Dell Streak 7 offers an alternative for those of you wanting a tablet, but are unable to afford those at the high-end of the market, such as the Apple iPad. It’s due for release tomorrow in the U.S and we have a roundup of interesting reviews, from those who were lucky enough to get their hands on one before the release date.

CNN say ‘it’s chunkier in shape than the iPad’ but go on to suggest it is still just as comfortable to hold, allowing for a more pleasurable experience when reading or browsing the web. It comes with a Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, Bluetooth 2.1 as well as Wi-Fi and the ability to video chat thanks to its 1.3mp camera on the front and 5mp camera on the back. Read what else CNN thought of the Dell Streak 7 here.

Engadget also got hands on with the device describing it as ‘a honest-to-goodness tablet meant for doing all those tablet-y things’. They go on to say that it runs an Android 2.2 OS but Dell promise a Honeycomb upgrade when it’s finally ready. Read their full review here.

Prices start at $200 when bought on a T-Mobile contract, making it cheaper than rivals such as the Galaxy Tab. The device would set you back $450 without a contract.

What are your thoughts on this tablet? Do you think the prices are reasonable?

Back on November 23rd Acer held a press conference called Interact where they announced a new laptop / Tablet PC. It is called the Iconia, with the rise in touch screen technology on the likes of the iPad and the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Acer now want to come in on the action.

We have spoken to you about another recent dual touch screen laptop in the Taiji model but how does the Iconia compare? Let’s have a look at the specs of the device and then we can tell a little more. The Iconia obviously has 2 displays at 14” both full touch screens, it has 4GB DDR RAM, 750GB HDD, 1 USB3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 ports and Windows 7 Home Premium. It also has an Intel core i5 processor.

Naturally with a device like this people will look at the specs and they are not too shabby, but the real selling point to this device is its intricate innovative style that it brings. It has something a little different in its core functionality that is shown in the video clip further down courtesy of CNET.com.

One of the things that interested me was the way the keyboard is thrown up onto the base screen, you put both of your hands on the screen so all 10 fingers and both palms then the keyboard appears as if by magic. It actually recognizes your hands both being placed on it. Now that is cool. It also has another function of when you put one hand down in a similar fashion it brings up what is described as a media wheel and is shown below.

If you missed the conference then don’t worry, you can view some of the clips here. You can expect to pick one of these devices towards the end of December or early in 2011. Acer also showed a new Tablet PC which currently doesn’t have a name or a price associated with it. The tablet will run on the Android platform working with NVIDIA’s Tegra which you can learn more about here. You can see a picture below of the new tablet,

There hasn’t been many new peripherals released recently for the Nintendo Wii, but a clever new tablet has become available which was designed exclusively for the console.

Chad Sapieha of The Globe And Mail is reporting the device released by THQ, is a plain white slate that has a wired stylus attached to it, and allows kids and adults alike to indulge into their creative sides. It was found that it takes a while to get used to the stylus, but once this is achieved it is very precise in interpreting what you are trying to draw.

The $69.99 tablet is bundled with uDraw Studio software which is not a game but a tool for kids to color and draw pictures. Users have a choice of custom colors from a palette, range of stylus nibs, deploy stamps, switch between free drawing and straight lines, and add post-painting effects like negative film and sepia tones.

Younger children are catered for with the coloring mode, where black and white line drawings can be colored freehand or using the fill function. Once masterpieces are completed users can take snapshots of them and save them to an SD card. This allows them to be printed or viewed on a PC display. The article goes on to review the other software currently available for uDraw.

The current Pandigital 7-inch Novel tablet is not a great device in the eReader market, but will the larger 9-inch version follow in its larger sibling’s footsteps? Well QVC is about to find out, as they have become the first to start selling the device.

Vlad Savov from Engadget had hoped that Pandigital would have made a number of improvements, but sadly that is not the case. The only thing different about the device is its size, which to you and I is simply not enough.

Looking over the specs on the QVC website we can see that the new Novel tablet comes with 2GB of storage and a 4GB microSD, as well as W-Fi. However, it is not known what version of Google Android the new device is running – I bet it is not 2.2 Froyo?

The price that you will pay for the Pandigital 9-inch Novel eReader is $214, compared to the $180 price tag for the 7-inch version. Would you pay an extra $34 for a larger screen?
