We have some disappointing news for those of you with an LG Optimus L9 handset on T-Mobile now. If you have been patiently waiting for an official Jelly Bean update, we’re here to tell you that T-Mobile are now going to make you wait just a little longer – after running into a few mysterious problems when preparing to rollout.

The mid range device was released towards the end of last year in the US, running Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 out of the box. T-Mobile had already confirmed that a Jelly Bean update would be taking place, but now they have confirmed that the update is now officially ‘on pause’, until further notice.

The update was due to start rolling out on May 7, but the carrier has now said that they need further time to improve performance within Jelly Bean, also revealing that they do not know when the update will resume again. It means that for consumers unwilling to install custom software, they will be stuck on Ice Cream Sandwich until T-Mobile has solved the problems.

The only good news that we can see out of this, is that the update will be a much better one when it is finally available. It would have been a PR disaster for T-Mobile if they released a broken update after making consumers wait so long – so it’s understandable from that point of view.

Having said that, we’ve also heard whispers that some of you have managed to install this paused update regardless. If you have an LG Optimus L9 on T-Mobile and are already running official Jelly Bean, let us know if you are running into problems or not.

Are you ok to remain on Ice Cream Sandwich, or will you now think about installing some custom Android updates instead?

We have an update for those of you looking to pick up the Samsung Galaxy S4 handset on T-Mobile, with Samsung’s latest flagship expected to start showing up this week in the US after a long wait and after an initial launch in Europe. We previously told you that May 8 was the date for when the device will be available, but we’ve since heard that you may have to wait a week extra to be able to snap up a Galaxy S4 without any problems.

In a matter of hours, T-Mobile’s homepage should be changing to accomodate the glorious start of Samsung Galaxy S4 online sales. The price will be $149 as a down payment then $20 per month for 24 months, or $630 for those who are planning to buy the phone outright, unlocked and without being tied down to a contract.

For everyone else, the wait still continues to be able to snap up a Galaxy S4 from an actual T-Mobile store. We’re hear to tell you that T-Mobile has sent out word that only select T-Mobile stores will have Galaxy S4 stock on May 8. It means that you’ll have to check with your local store to see if you are lucky, but if not – May 15 is now the final date for when all other Galaxy S4 sales will begin.

That is perhaps a little disappointing to find out that the wait may now continue until the middle of May. Then again, it is still earlier than Verizon customers and let’s not forget that this is arguably Samsung’s most anticipated smartphone launch in their history.

The question is, are you holding on to pick up the device from T-Mobile, or have you already opted for Sprint, AT&T or Verizon instead?

If you are a T-Mobile customer and you are almost up for an upgrade, then you have a bit of a quandary on your hands. The reason for this is because you can either get yourself the new HTC One, or you could go for the iPhone 5 instead.

The problem is because some customers will want to get their hands on the latest technology, and so feel as though the HTC One is the way to go. This handset looks to be a very decent device, although it does lack some of the features as let’s say the Galaxy S4, but we cannot deny the HTC has a far more premium feel to it.

However, the moment you bring the iPhone 5 into the equation things get complicated. This is because Apple’s smartphone is also a quality handset (apart from the scratching issue), but lacks some of the latest tech because it’s 6 months old already.

However, the iPhone runs on iOS 6, and while this is not the best iOS we have seen over the years, it still allows the iPhone 5 to punch above its weight because things seem so much smoother. That’s not saying Android is not a great software, it’s just not as smooth and fast as it could be because it not being a naked version of Android like the Nexus devices.

We’ve already looked at prices and pre-orders for the iPhone 5 and the HTC One on T-Mobile, so now you will need to make a tough decision, one that you will need to stick with for the next two years.

Then again, you could hang on for the Galaxy S4, which should be pretty soon, or the next iPhone, although we still do not know when this will be released.

Today, we have seen T-Mobile deliver a Nexus 4 price drop that is certainly the best deal to date from the carrier. You might not be able to get the Smartphone for free with T-Mobile, but you can now get the handset for $49 when you take out a new contract.

This is impressive for a number of reasons, especially considering getting hold of the Nexus 4 had been a real challenge just a few weeks back. The prices on most websites and in local phone stores were raised thanks to demand, although this isn’t a problem right now and T-Mobile are showing this with their new price point.

It is worth noting that this deal is a web-only offer, which only adds to the chance that this is the lowest you’ll see the Nexus 4 both online and offline. There’s no sign that this is a limited discount, but be warned it could be pulled at anytime.

The deal gets better when you take into account the free car charger and no activation charge for all SIM cards.

Google Play were the cheapest place to purchase the Nexus 4 for a while, so considering you will pay around $350 through Play can only make this offer sound even better although that price is contract-free. You can read about the Wireless Charger in an earlier article if this is something you’re interested in.

We have some good news for price-conscious consumers out there, especially those that are currently residing on T-Mobile’s books. It was a well known fact last year that the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 did not come with 4G LTE support, unlike the other US variants of the device on the likes of AT&T, Verizon and Sprint.

It was initially thought that Samsung’s popular handset would stay on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network throughout 2013, but now it appears that the US carrier has had a change of heart. New information has appeared, revealing that T-Mobile are actually in the planning stages of releasing a brand new Galaxy S3 with 4G LTE support.

The guys over at TmoNews have provided another of their trusty leaked roadmaps, referencing a Galaxy S3 LTE release date of either March 27 or April 4 – yes, two possible dates have supposedly been mentioned by T-Mobile. There’s no word on pricing unfortunately, but we expect the deal will be good since the handset is now starting to age with phones such as the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 on the way at some point in the year.

Two colors will be available on offer – either Marble White or Titanium Gray, as standard. It goes without saying that hardware specifications will remain the same, so expect features such as a 4.8-inch display, 1GB of RAM, 1.4Ghz quad-core processor and an 8 megapixel camera – certainly very decent specs you would agree.

One area that may be updated though is the Android operating system. The original GS3 launched with Ice Cream Sandwich, but we expect that the T-Mobile Galaxy S3 LTE will come equipped with the latest version of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean – fingers crossed on this aspect.

Does this appeal to any T-Mobile customers out there, or is it a case of too little, too late? Let us know if you would be willing to buy this, or if you will opt for a more glamorous upcoming handset instead.

As we draw ever closer to MWC we have started to see numerous leeks, such as the HTC M7, which will be the phone makers flagship handset. We already know a lot about this handset, but details in regards to potential carriers were not available. However, that has now changed and from what we see the HTC M7 is lacking a T-Mobile release.

While we cannot be certain of the authenticity of this leaked information that came via Twitter, for now it seems as though AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon will be getting the M7, although it’s worth pointing out that a lot can change from now until the start of Mobile World Congress 2013 at the end of next month.

Up until a few days ago it was just speculation as to what the HTC M7 would look like, but thankfully we now have an idea of its design, although it’s worth noting that this was just a render and not the final production version. However, we’re sure that over the next few weeks there will be a leaked image or two of the upcoming flagship smartphone from HTC.

It’s also assumed that the M7 will come with the new Sense 5 UI and we now have an idea of what this new software will look like. Looking at the images here you can see that it will have a much cleaner and simpler look, some might say HTC is going for the stock Android approach.

You might have already seen the message on the Google play store, and if you were checking several times a day then you almost certainly would have seen a special offer from T-Mobile being promoted for the Nexus 4.

You can see that Google are offering the 8GB Nexus 4 for just under $300, but this currently states sold out, although it seems too good to be true that T-Mobile are being suggested at under $200 on a 2 year contract. It is worth noting that this offer is after a small rebate, which the details can be read on the official T-Mobile website here for Nexus 4, which is where Google direct you from the play store. The image below is a quick screenshot taken from the Google play store and includes the promotional text that Google feature, which will make some people really happy until they click the learn more link.

Why suggest T-Mobile for the Nexus 4 and then fail to deliver? The big problem Google has is demand and they cannot meet the Nexus 4 demand, which is causing a lot of frustration for those that want this handset, so offering T-Mobile as another solution and then when you visit their website you see another message stating “Out of Stock“, how should users feel?

The desperation for finding LG Nexus 4 stock has led to some people creating services to help users, which is exactly what one free Android app has tried to do that only just released today. You can take a look at this stock checker in our earlier article, although if you’ve used it feel free to hit the comments with how useful you found it. Will the Nexus 4 be at the top of your Christmas list, if so you best write a letter to Santa as soon as possible?

The amount of events scheduled in New York this coming week has meant a number of technology companies are having to cancel, which is thanks to Hurricane Sandy and its projected path that included NYC. We heard that Google had to cancel their event planned for today, which has now been followed by T-Mobile offering a late email stating they’re postponing the Oct 29 event as well.

Both Google and T-Mobile were to hold these events in New York on the same day, which is a shame that the Hurricane Sandy path has stopped the product and service announcements, but it is better to be safe than sorry as the old saying goes. We’ve included the two invitations in the images below, although new dates will be sent out after the Hurricane passes.

There will be new dates for both events in the coming days, although some technology fans have pointed out about live video streaming, and wonder why the event couldn’t go ahead from another location with a live video stream? We guess that both Google and T-Mobile feel the new products and services need to be shown in person, so expect new press dates to be sent out this week. Do you think a live stream could have taken place, which might have also included the public as well?

If you want to get the latest update in regard to the Hurricane Sandy path, then you might want to see this live tracker that also offers regular news updates. This article is also pretty good for smartphone users, which explains a few good tips to help people prepare before a hurricane hits.

If you are currently weighing up the pros and cons as to which carrier version to get for the US bound Samsung Galaxy Note 2, it looks like prospective T-Mobile customers are going to be very happy indeed, with the discovery of future proof LTE support that will be ready to go in 2013.

T-Mobile is going to be one of the first carriers out of the big four to sell the Galaxy Note 2, but for now it won’t be available for operation on a 4G LTE network like Sprint, AT&T and Verizon. Instead, the T-Mobile version will utilize the HSPA+42 network and is built in a way where users will be able to switch to LTE mode as soon as the service is available on T-Mobile sometime in 2013.

An early analysis has been compiled over at AnandTech and they have confirmed in their own findings that the T-Mobile hardware is exactly the same as the AT&T version, with the LTE radios in tact. T-Mobile will obviously disable this feature at launch so consumers do not try to activate a network that isn’t ready yet, but at the same time – this new finding is going to be a gold mine for eager modders over at the XDA developer forums who will be licking their lips at the thought of enabling new features before T-Mobile does.

If you were previously under the impression that the T-Mobile version would be inferior to the Verizon, AT&T and Sprint models due to the lack of LTE support, this now puts all four versions on the same level, with individual carrier plans likely to be the main decider as consumers prepare to sign their lives away with another two year contract.

Were you already planning on picking up the T-Mobile version? How does it feel knowing that there is hidden LTE support now included for when the service launches next year? If you have already ordered your handset online, let us know which carrier you chose and why.

All the talk is about the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 at the moment and rightly so. The rumored device is already looking like a formidable competitor to the iPhone 5, but for T-Mobile customers, there’s still the very important matter of the original Galaxy Note releasing on their network.

The wait has been a long one, but we finally have some great news for those of you who have stayed patient all this time. The Galaxy Note has been available on AT&T for almost six months, but we can tell you that the T-Mobile Galaxy Note will make its long awaited appearance on August 8.

That means that you don’t have long to wait at all and T-Mobile has also confirmed that there will be a choice of two service plans to choose from. For $199 on a two year agreement, you’ll be opted into the Equipment Installment Plan. If you want to go on T-Mobile’s standard plan though, you’ll have to pay $249 for the device instead.

Although the device originally shipped with Android Gingerbread, you’ll be pleased to hear that you’ll get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. We’re also presuming that the device will definitely be on the list for an upgrade to Jelly Bean, but then again with the Note 2 out soon we can’t say for sure.

Is this a bit of a double edged sword for you though? The Galaxy Note arriving on T-Mobile is surely a moment to celebrate, but how are you going to feel having forked out for one of these on a two year deal, only to find that the Note 2 is superior in every way, which is likely to be the case?

Will you take a chance on the T-Mobile Galaxy Note, or wait for the Galaxy Note 2 on another network?
