Motorola Atrix comes to T-Mobile UK: Contract price revealed

Back in March we announced that the Motorola Atrix smartphone would be arriving on T-Mobile UK sometime in June, although we unfortunately couldn’t provide a specific date. However, we can now tell you that the handset has come to T-Mobile UK, and the contract price has been revealed.

As Kate Solomon over at techradar.com recently noted, T-Mobile UK will be offering the Motorola Atrix smartphone for free, but only if you sign up to a £35.75 a month two-year contract. This will provide you with a 500MB date allowance, 500 text messages and 900 minutes.

If you don’t mind upping your monthly payment to £40.85 (or above) per month for a period of 24 months, you can pick up the ‘Work and Play’ kit. This will provide you with the Motorola HD media dock with an HDMI port and 3 USB ports, plus a mouse, a keyboard and a remote control.

The ‘Work and Play’ kit costs £129 when purchased separately. The higher priced contract will give you a 500MB data allowance, 1200 minutes and 500 texts per month. T-Mobile will also be stocking the Lapdock for £299. The lapdock comes with an 11.6-inch screen and around eight hours battery life.

LG Optimus Black Arriving at T-Mobile UK – Possible March Release

We have some great news now for those of you that live in the UK and are thinking about buying a new smartphone, as the LG Optimus Black – which was first revealed during the CES 2011 event back in January – has recently been confirmed as coming to T-Mobile UK.

According to a recent article by Desire Athow over on the itproportal.com website, T-Mobile UK has now set up a “coming soon” page on their website for the much-awaited Android 2.2 run handset, although we still don’t know any details on pricing at this stage.

The LG Optimus Black has some pretty neat specs including a 4-inch energy-efficient NOVA display with a resolution of 800 x 480, and Wi-Fi direct. With a weight of 109g, the LG Optimus Black handset is being described as one of the lightest touchscreen smartphones out there.

As Nick Marshall at electricpig.co.uk notes, the Optimus Black – which has been put down for a possible March release – also features GPS, HSPA connectivity, a 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera to the rear, HD video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

Orange / T-Mobile UK Merger Complete: Have You Noticed Improvements?

Orange and T-Mobile customers in the UK should begin noticing improvements in connectivity from today, this is because a merger is now complete which allows subscribers to roam on both networks for free.

As long as you are either an Orange UK or T-Mobile UK customer you will be able to reep the benefits from both network infrastructures, this should give users much better coverage across the UK.

In some areas local to me there are a lot of Orange UK coverage problems, therefore frustrated customers should be able to hop onto T-Mobile’s network automatically and now have great connectivity without having to search endlessly for one bar of signal.

We would love to hear if you have noticed the changes, therefore feel free to let us know if you have had better reception since the merger.

HTC Desire and XPERIA X10: Available for T-Mobile UK

If you are a T-Mobile UK customer who is due an upgrade you may want to check out two new handsets which the carrier are now offering, these handsets are the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and the HTC Desire.

Both handsets are completely free from the carrier when you agree a £35 a month 18 month deal, just to recap the XPERIA X10 features a massive 4 inch capacitive touchscreen display, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and an 8 megapixel camera, you can find out more here.
