Today we have news of another weapons based video that the publisher has unleashed. This time the clip focuses on one weapon in particular, the DART6. According to the voice over that features in the trailer and introduces viewers to the weapon, every Agent is equipped with a DART6 chip implant and which is a specially designed weaponised version of the chip implant in other humans in the game.

This weaponries version gives Agents an array of abilities which give them an advantage over their enemies including the ability to manipulate the enemy using their own chip implant against them. This allows players to force their enemies to kill themselves or turn against their allies. The DART6 also gives players the ability to slow down time, deal extra damage, highlight their enemies or even cause their enemies weapons to backfire.

Other abilities are also granted depending on the upgrades players obtain along the way and the load out combination they choose. So far the game looks set to be an exciting one and according to CVG, EA claim to have set out to create a challenging shooter and from what we’ve seen so far they seem to have achieved just that. What are your thoughts on Syndicate so far? Will you be getting it when it releases in February next year?

There are a total of 19 weapons that players will have at their disposal. This collection of arsenal includes 25 possible upgrades and 87 attachments as explained in the trailer which can be viewed below. The video also displays some examples of both ranged combat and close quarters combat, from which you can get an idea of which weapons are suitable for each situation.

When the game was announced back in September, publisher EA said the aim of launching this new version of Syndicate is to appeal to fans of the original game and at the same time ‘to provide a challenging action shooter for today’s gamers.’ Next year’s version is being developed by Starbreeze Studios, the team that brought us The Darkness as well as The Chronicles of Riddick titles; Escape from Butcher Bay and Assault on Dark Athena.

As well as this new weapons trailer, EA has also launched some screenshots which include gameplay images from the single player campaign as well as several from the co-op mode. Full game details are currently unknown, you can see the game’s plot here, to sum things up it is set in 2069 and civilians have been planted with chips by mega-corporations known as syndicates – you play as Miles Kilo, Eurocorp’s latest prototype agent, and the journey the game takes you through is said to involve revenge and corruption.

in terms of gameplay it is a first-person shooter, but you have more than just weapons to take out the enemy, throughout the game you upgrade hacking mechanics which will allow you to control the digital world around you, also you can slow down time.

The game is said to be a cross between the first-person shooter elements associated with Crysis and the clean sci-fi world of Mass Effect – we are particularly excited to hear that it will boast 4 player cooperative multiplayer. You can find out a little more over at GameSpy.
