Choosing the best auto ad from the Super Bowl was always going to be a tough one because these brands and their advertising partners seem to turn things up a gear because they know how many people will be watching – well that’s the hope. Many proud American’s will agree that the Chrysler Dodge Ram Super Bowl ad was at the top of the list because of the message that it puts across.

However, it has now come to light that the commercial was inspired by a 2011 video on the farms.com website. The same speech by Paul Harvey was used in the Dodge Ram commercial, and you don’t have to be a farmer to feel proud of the hard work that these people do, no matter what country you are from.

The commercial is pretty much the same concept as the one from 2011, although different images were used in the slideshow to give it far more presence. There was a fear that those of you who watched the commercial would say that it is plagiarism, but it’s nice to know that farms.com told Autoblog that it pays homage and that they were pleased with the outcome.

No doubt there will be several complaints saying that the ad was a little over the top in terms of God, but you don’t have to believe in the Almighty to appreciate a great ad that uses a message to pay homage to farmers, who pretty much keep the world going.

Which commercial won you over during the Super Bowl?

We already knew that Hyundai had several ads planned for the Super Bowl on Sunday, but we did not have many details on the final one, that is until now. The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe seven-seat is the final Super Bowl commercial and we also have details on pricing as well, which is just the icing on the cake after watching the video below.

As you would imagine Hyundai has been releasing these ads slowly as a way to drip-feed us until the build-up to the big game, which is today – the build-up I’m talking about. The commercial is called Called Epic PlayDate and features a family in the 2013 seven-seat Hyundai Santa Fe along with alternative rock band The Flaming Lips.

Because the family is so large they need a seven-seat vehicle and as you would imagine they all have different personalities, which is why we see them in various situations throughout the ad. There’s not much to this commercial and it’s not going to win any awards for its creativity, but what about the vehicle itself?

There are four versions of this larger Santa Fe with prices starting at $28,350 for the FWD GLS, the AWD version will cost an extra $1,750. Then there is the 2WD Limited Edition, which costs $33,100 and the four-wheel drive version will set you back $34,850. You’ll find more details by visiting Autoblog.

For the past few years we have all heard about the economy and the doom and gloom reports by analysts saying that we are not spending, which is why many countries in Europe and also North America are still in a recession. However, heading to your local mall or shopping center will prove that consumers are still spending big, and this is more apparent as we have recently learned that TV sales have increased ahead of Super Bowl 2013, which takes place this Sunday.

Coverage of the Super Bowl XLVII is to begin today and it seems that sports fans want to take advantage of some cracking deals to view the game on a big screen TV. It’s great that big sporting events can help other markets, which is just what 4K TV makers hope will happen during the 2014 World Cup.

A recent report suggests that because stores know how big of a deal the Super Bowl is they are slashing prices to what we have seen during Black Friday, which makes it a win-win situation for the retailer and the consumer.

This is nothing new because these retailers buy in certain TV models in the hope of shifting them at prices as low as 37 percent of the RRP.

Every year the Super Bowl is on fans brag to their mates that they have a big screen TV and they are welcome to watch the big game at their house. In the past viewing the sport on a huge screen was never a nice time because the image quality was never that good because it was being stretched so much

However, times have changed and it doesn’t matter how big you go as there is no loss in quality – so yes bigger is better. Maybe go and see if you know someone with a 170-inch HD projector, just like my cousin.

With just a few days to go until the big sporting event two more car manufacturers have teased us with their Super Bowl commercials, in the hope of grabbing your attention to two new models. The first is the 2014 Kia Sorento and the Space Babies ad and also the 2013 Mercedes-Benz CLA, which at one stage features the beautiful Kate Upton.

So let’s look at the Kia Ad first, which tries to tackle the issue about where babies come from. We follow a father as he tries to explain just that, but he tells the story of a world known as Babylandia, where people live in peace with each other – what a perfect world that would be. They then get to a stage where they have to leave that planet and make their way to earth. However, we have to laugh when the kid starts to explain where babies actually come from. This doesn’t seem to have much to do with the 2014 Kia Sorento, apart from it being the ideal vehicle for families.

The Mercedes CLA Super Bowl commercial sees what a man would do to get his hands on the new vehicle, which sees him about to make a deal with who we believe to be the Devil. The ad shows that the moment you own a CLA you will enter into a world full of glitz and glamour, such as being on the red carpet with the sexy Kate Upton.

However, it’s when he has a dance off with Usher that makes the commercial more interesting. It’s when we get to the end that the guy decides not to deal with the Dark Lord because the Mercedes CLA starting price is just $29.900.

Which is your best Super Bowl commercial so far?

With just three days left until RIM officially release their first BlackBerry 10 devices along with BB10 OS as well the company understand that they need to get creative in order to build up public awareness. As if by pure chance the Super Bowl is on in just over a weeks time and would be the perfect platform for RIM to show off their new products.

This is just what the Canadian company is doing says Engadget, but looking at the advertising fees the RIM Super Bowl XLVII will ad to the cost of BlackBerry 10 OS and BB10 handsets as well. The reason we say this is because the average cost of a 30 second commercial is around $4 million, which is one of the reasons why General Motors decided not to show any commercials during Super Bowl this year, although this has not stopped Toyota and Hyundai.

There’s always the fear that at the moment an ad is played viewers will choose this time to go for a bathroom break or head to the refrigerator for more refreshments. However, RIM has made certain that the commercial will air several times before and after the game, as well as a larger social presences on Facebook and Twitter.

Skeptics would argue that RIM cannot afford such an advertising campaign and this just adds to the cost of the new OS and handsets. However, RIM currently has no debt and we have all heard the saying that you have to speculate to accumulate. We do hope that BlackBerry 10 handsets and OS do very well.

Will RIM bash Apple in their Super Bowl Ad? We say this because last year we saw an interesting Samsung commercial during the big sporting event where they went just a little over the top to prove their point, although cannot see RIM doing the same – but we do hope so.

There’s not long to go until this years Super Bowl kicks off and while most of you will be excited to see the game, others always wonder what delights will await them before the game, at half time and after the game, as this is the prime time for companies to show off their new ads. We have just learned that the 2013 Santa Fe will have 5 ads shown, which will be the sixth time Hyundai has had a Super Bowl commercial or commercials run during the big sporting event.

Having five spots set aside is certain to cost the car manufacturer big, but as we have seen in the past being able to advertise your choosen product during the game is considered prime real estate because the audience reach is astounding. We’re told that the premise of the commercials is to have fun, much like the 2013 Toyota RAV4 Super Bowl ad we showed you yesterday.

One of the commercials has already been shown, which you can see for yourself below, but in a recent article there are now details on those four other commercials, which include: Epic PlayDate, Team, Stuck and finally Excited.

The first 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe commercial, which will air before the game will feature a new song from an alternative legendary rock band, the second is 30 seconds of our movie heaven, as it pays respect to some of those amazing action movies. The third features some recently married people on a journey in their new Santa Fe and the fourth features Gus Johnson giving us an analysis of the Genesis R-Spec version in the only way he knows best. The fifth commercial that we mentioned will be the one from the video you see below.

With just 10 days to go until Super Bowl XLVII we have just seen a teaser video for what is to be the Toyota Super Bowl commercial, and from what we can tell is advertising the new 2013 RAV4. However, we were not interested in the car that much but rather the star of the video, which is none other than Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny from The Big Bang Theory.

While I was transfixed watching Cuoco it’s the soundtrack that I loved the most, which was “I Wish” by rapper Skee-Lo. The advertising company in charge of this ad was clever in the way that they made things happen on screen that was relevant to the words of the song, such as when Skee-Lo wished that he was taller and Cuoco throws some magic powder over a guy in the video and made him taller.

Overall this is a pretty decent video, but not like the kid trying to act like Darth Vader a few years back. However, if Toyota wants people to believe that the RAV4 is fun then this ad certainly represents that. This is likely to be the start of an influx of teaser Super Bowl commercials, which we will keep you fully informed of, but only those that are to do with autos or technology of course.

The 2013 RAV4 looks set to go head to head with the Ford Escape and the Honda CR-V, but there is a fear that the tight third row could work against Toyota, although it’s an option that does not need to be used and is only there if you ever need it.

With less than three weeks between now and the Super Bowl, Sprint has put into action some enhancements to its 3G network in Indianapolis, this will help the network cope with the huge demand which 150,000 football fans will bring to the relatively small area in early February.

Sprint used Twitter to announce what measures its engineers have put in place, the tweet took you to the Sprint Newsroom and you can see a fully detailed press release for yourself here, in our article will tell you what Sprint users in Indianapolis should expect thanks to what has been implemented.

The press release states that the network is ready to deliver solid voice and data coverage during Super Bowl XLVI, apparently they have activated five COWs (Cells on Wheels) in Indianapolis, one of which is located at the University of Indianapolis NFC practice facility, another two are situated outside the Lucas Oil Stadium and the other two can be found in the Super Bowl Village. Lots of other improvements have also been made such as network capacity upgrades, iDEN site launches along with additional CDMA sites going live.

All these changes may sound complicated, but basically they all come together to ensure that if your using a Sprint device in Indianapolis during the Super Bowl weekend you should be able to make calls, send and receive text messages, access websites, use data-intensive apps and send and receive photos without running into problems. It’s nice to see a bit of forward thinking from Sprint, however we won’t know just how successful things will be until Sunday, 5 February 2012.

If you are a Sprint customer planning to travel to Indianapolis you should now be able to rest-assured knowing that your devices should be fully functional during this year’s Super Bowl, are you in Indianapolis right now? If so, have you noticed better Sprint 3G coverage?

The 2011 Super Bowl XLV is just under two weeks away now, and for those who would like to keep track of how long they have to wait for the big game, then this date and time countdown app from the host committee will be a great addition to your iPhone. Just to let you know, the app is free.

This application is more than just a countdown to the 2011 Super Bowl, as it also provides information on the Cowboys Stadium. That’s not all; there is also many more features, such as trivia, maps, news, events and even a way to update your Facebook status.

When downloading the Official Super Bowl App you should consider another couple to accompanying it. Two that we would recommend are ‘Super Bowl Facts’ and ‘Super Bowl Trivia’. The first app cost $0.99 and is a one-stop place for all those facts that you might have not known about the big sporting event.

The second app also costs just $0.99 and will test your knowledge of the game; you will be asked a number of questions on the first 20 Super Bowls. The idea is to answer as fast as possible to earn more points. What other apps have you downloaded in anticipation of big event of the year?
