We are afraid to tell you that there is yet another vehicle recall, this time involving the 2009 and 2010 Subaru Outback and Legacy models. The vehicles are being recalled due to wires behind the steering wheel that could crack then break.

The Outback and Legacy models affected by this were built between February 16, 2009 and April 12, 2010; there is thought to be 74,000 being recalled. If these wires crack, then there is a chance that some of the function on the steering wheel will fail to work – one of which could be the air bag.

Jeremy Korzeniewski from Autoblog explains that those who own one of the affected vehicles are asked to contact their local Subaru dealer, they will then be checked to see if they have the faulty steering roll connector. If it does, then the problem will be fixed at no cost to you.

For more details on this latest recall contact NHTSA on 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) if you fail to get though then visit Safecar.gov

Drivers will not be feeling confident in any car that they drive soon, as a number of brands have been hit by recalls – the latest being Subaru. According to the NHTSA website the vehicles affected by this latest recall is the 2010 Subaru Outback and Legacy – only those that fitted with the CVT transmission.

If you have one of the 29,443 Legacy and Outback models affected by this recall, then you should make your way to your local Subaru dealer. If your vehicle was built between July 31 and December 1, 2009 then chances are it could develop a crack in the CVT cooler hose.

Autoblog explains that such a fluid leak could to lead to damage to the transmission, which could then end up more expensive than replacing a hose. Subaru will notify those who will be affected by this latest recall, which you will then have to take your Legacy or Outback to your local dealer for repair – all free of charge.

For more details call Subaru on 1-856-488-8500
