We have some great news for owners of the HTC One superphone on Sprint now, as we can confirm that the very first software update for the Sprint version is now rolling out. It means that by the time the weekend is over, everyone should be on a new HTC One software version with sensitivity improvements.

If you have the device, you’ll know that there has been a bit of a headache involving the capacitive buttons on the HTC One, with the home and back buttons not being responsive enough – often resulting in consumers having to press the buttons multiple times before an actual tap is registered.

Sprint has revealed in their update patch notes, that they have “Improved Back and Home key sensitivity”, which can only be interpreted as a direct fix to the issues, which is great news. It’s refreshing to see Sprint on the ball with consumer feedback and we are betting that some of you with the AT&T version are hoping for a swift fix over the very same issue.

The good news, is that those who have already received the 1.29.651.10 update are reporting that touch sensitivity on the home and back keys is now working as they should. Don’t panic if you haven’t received an OTA notification to install yet, as Sprint has already warned on their patch notes that the update will be rolling out in stages.

They have also recommended users to attempt to push the update manually as well, to see if that will speed up the process for you. Along with the sensitivity fix, you should also see some BlinkFeed improvements, as well as an updated version of the Sprint Zone client – for those that use that.

So there we have it. If you have the Sprint HTC One, let us know if your sensitivity has improved on the back and home keys after installing this update.

Yesterday, we gave T-Mobile customers a much needed update on the stock status of the highly sought after Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone in the US. This week is launch week for many carriers and now we have some useful information for those of you who are interested in picking up the device from Sprint instead.

As many Sprint customers will be aware, the Galaxy S4 was due to arrive on the network on April 27, both in-store and online. However, due to global stock issues from Samsung, this date was held back as carriers struggled to meet demand from thirsty consumers who were eager to snap up a Galaxy S4 at the first opportunity.

The good news, is that Sprint has now sent out word informing customers that healthy Galaxy S4 stock is now starting to return at their brick and mortar stores. It looks like word has already spread in relation to online sales as well, as we experienced slow loading times, when trying to order a Galaxy S4 from Sprint’s online store directly.

Sprint has told AndroidGuys that inventory will be flowing in ‘on a daily basis’, so the best choice for you now may be to head into your nearest Sprint store and see if they have any stock left. Like other US carriers, the Galaxy S4 will be available from Sprint in a choice of two colors – either Black Mist or White Frost.

The price is set at $249.99 on a two-year contract, although you can get a $100 discount if you plan to switch your number over to Sprint’s network from a previous carrier. Alternatively, you can pay $599.99 outright if you want to pick up the device without a contract.

So there we have it – daily stock is apparently ‘flowing’ through at Sprint’s stores. The question is, have you been lucky enough to grab one already? Let us know how you have been getting on, both with in-store and online sales.

We have some good news for customers on Sprint and AT&T now, especially those who are yet to buy the popular HTC One smartphone. The device is freely available to buy in White at the moment, but many consumers had been holding out for release news on the elusive Black model. It looks like that patience is now going to pay off as we’re hearing that the Black variant will be hitting both carriers very soon.

In our opinion, we like the Black HTC One a lot more than the White – there’s just something very classy about it. Of course, it’s nice to keep viewing images of the Black variant online, but consumers just want to hold it in their hands and the wait has definitely been a frustrating one.

Luckily, it looks like there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Both AT&T and Sprint have put up new product pages for the Black version, with Sprint saying that it is now ‘coming soon’ and AT&T being able to offer a Black 64GB model as a carrier exclusive. However though, there’s no release dates just yet so hopefully this vital information is coming soon.

With the listings going live though, it should be a logical assumption that stock should be arriving soon. A lot of critics have said that the HTC One just looks like an iPhone 5 in disguise, but positive sales so far should also be an indication that a lot of people don’t really care and even see it as a positive.

Do you agree with us that the Black HTC One looks better, or do you actually prefer the White? Let us know if you are willing to overlook handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 to pick up one of these instead. We’ll let you know pricing and availability details when AT&T and Sprint release them.

We have great news for those still rocking a Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic Touch 4G on Sprint now, as it has been confirmed that you are getting a surprise official update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean over the Easter weekend. It would be logical for Sprint to focus on newer handsets in 2013, but we’re delighted to hear that they are still committed to making some of their older customers happy as well.

This is definitely an official update, as Sprint has now confirmed the news on their website. In the support section of their website, you’ll now find an information page on the Jelly Bean update for the Epic Touch 4G, identified as the GB27 update which is optional to install – but of course all of you are going to jump straight on this.

The update has been released officially as of March 28, but we’re hearing that the update is only available via a wired connection due to a large file size, which is thought to be close to the 500MB mark. That means that you will probably need to use the Samsung Kies software to get the update, so head to the Kies website if you don’t have the software yet.

We have since learned that you can also get the update direct from Samsung’s website as well here, so let us know if this has proved successful for you. For a device that released two years ago, it is a very pleasing outcome indeed for owners who thought that the day would never come when official Jelly Bean would arrive.

It is official now though, so install it if you have an Epic Touch 4G and let us know how you get on. Lets hope other carriers in the US adopt a similar strategy to Sprint through the year with regards to other Jelly Bean updates for older handsets.

We are only into our second month of 2013 and we already have some great handsets to look forward to, even though many of them have yet to be officially announced. However, we have found 5 upcoming phones heading for Sprint in 2013, well so far anyway. Two are official, two unofficial and one is yet to be announced, although we could add many more to that list.

The first handset, and a very important one is the Blackberry Q10, which is expected to land in May on Sprint. The big release in the Z10, but Sprint has yet to make any sort of announcement just yet, but the Q10 is still a big deal because it needs to have what it takes to succeed the Blackberry Bold, and from what we have seen so far it looks very promising.

Next we have the Kyocera Torque (A.K.A. E6710), which was announced towards the end of last month. Looking at the specs this is no high-end smartphone, but it does have what is needed to cater for those on a limited budget, while still wanting enough performance for your everyday needs.

The LG Splendor and the Samsung Galaxy Reverb are currently unofficial for the moment, but we should learn about the availability of these smartphones pretty soon. Both come with single core processors and less than 1GB of RAM, so don’t expect too much from these entry-level handsets.

Another handset certain to make it to Sprint is the HTC M7, which we should learn more of later this month during MWC. We’ve already discussed the rumored specs of this device on a number of occasions, so no need to go over them again. HTC seems to be puting a lot of faith in the M7, so no doubt Sprint will be doing the same thing.

These are the five handset that are certain to make it to Sprint pretty soon, but there are two other handsets that Sprint is sure to take on, and they are the Blackberry Z10 (which has been doing pretty well in the UK) and the Samsung Galaxy S4, which is expected to be announced next month.

What handset are you hoping to get on Sprint this year?

We have some good news for Sprint Galaxy Nexus users now. The handset released almost two years ago but we delighted to see that Sprint are still providing updates for their patient users. An update to official Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean is now starting to roll out to selected users, with everyone due to receive the update over the next few weeks.

For a device that shipped with Ice Cream Sandwich, you have to say that it is top notch stuff from Sprint, especially for a Samsung handset that is infamously slow on delivering updates on other carriers in the US. Not on Sprint though it seems as they’ve just sent out word that some users will be due an OTA update to Android 4.2.1 by the end of the week.

We say some, as they’ve also said that the rollout phase will take between 10 and 21 days, so there’s no need to stress if you don’t have it at the first opportunity. For those that have been lucky enough to receive a notification already, you’ll be able to enjoy new features such as a redesigned camera interface and also the impressive new PhotoSphere features that come with Android 4.2 as well.

There is also going to be certain lockscreen widgets that you’ll be able to use without unlocking the device first which is useful. One thing we do find interesting from Sprint’s statement, is that they’ve said that handsets selected for the update will be chosen at ‘random’ and not location based that we have seen in the past with other Android updates.

The million dollar question is, do you have Android 4.2.1 yet on your Sprint Galaxy Nexus? Updates started rolling out as of Wednesday January 30 so let us know if you have spotted the update yet or not.

Finally the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update has gone live, and we’re getting reports from PR readers that devices are starting to get the Android 4.1 software update. This is said to be the first carrier in the US to deliver Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean, which is something truly special considering the long wait and frustration caused for many users.

First thing this morning users started to see an OTA update, as expected, for the Samsung Galaxy S3 and this time it hadn’t been another minor update, which in fact turned out to be Android 4.1.1. This means that Galaxy S3 users can finally enjoy the expanded notifications, enhanced features, and of course Android Beam all found with Jelly Bean.

Samsung has also added some of their own things to the Android 4.1 software, which means Galaxy S3 owners will also benefit from more than the standard Jelly Bean update features. This includes improvements to the camera app with new live filters for video and still images. If you’re new to the Galaxy S3 then you might enjoy the new “Easy Mode“, which allows users to learn the most important parts of the OS with an easy to understand tutorial.

Do you have Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean on your Sprint, and if so feel free to let us know your rough location and what time it arrived? There is a chance that your Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 might not see Jelly Bean just yet, so the carrier has advised users to be patient and that the software will download automatically when it finds the update.

Problems reported by some – we’ve also heard about a few issues with Jelly bean on some smartphones, which one user said “I’ve got the update but now my phone can’t load pages, is having problems viewing pictures, and also keeps shutting down different services“. These problems might be isolated to select users, although we’d love to hear from you if you’ve had problems with your Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean install.

Sprint customers may have been feeling a little starved lately in their search for a new smartphone. The good news however, is that a new rumored handset may interest you, nicknamed the Flash from Chinese manufacturers ZTE.

ZTE has emerged from the China clone dogfight to emerge as one of the most promising smartphone makers and a real contender to some of the main Android big boys such as Samsung, HTC and Motorola.

Little details on their latest effort, the ZTE Flash are known, but thanks to a leaked poster obtained and posted by Talk Android, we now know that the device is headed to the Sprint network. It is going to be another 4G LTE capable handset as well and boasts an impressive looking 4.5-inch HD IPS display screen with Gorilla Glass materials for extra protection.

Other hardware specifications include a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor which hasn’t been specified yet, NFC support, 1GB of RAM and a whopping 12.6MP rear camera with LED flash. That should immediately interest the smartphone photography enthusiasts out there, while a 1MP front camera rounds out the package nicely.

There’s no Jelly Bean at launch unsurprisingly, but the Flash will be a Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device out of the box. The poster even has a release date scheduled for October 14, so there’s plenty of time to build up interest in this if you want to give newcomers ZTE a chance.

Hopefully Sprint will announce this officially and we can take a much closer look at this device before it’s out. We’d also like Sprint to pen some kind of deal with Sam Jones as that really would be the icing on the cake. Don’t know who he is? – Watch Ted when you can.

It has been over a month since Sprint announced their latest flagship handset and we’re pleased to say that the highly anticipated HTC EVO 4G LTE is now available to pre-order. That’s where the good news ends though, as there appears to be some confusion on when the device will actually ship.

Right now, you can head to Sprint’s official website and pre-order the device for $199 on a two-year contract, once you have typed in your zip code. Before you rush out and pre-order though, you may want to shop around for better deals – for good reason.

Wirefly has also gone live with their HTC EVO 4G pre-order page and have already slashed $50 off Sprint’s asking price for the device. It means that you can pick up the device for a very reasonable $150 on contract and don’t forget that it also comes with $10 of free Google Wallet credit if you’re signing up for the NFC service for the very first time.

As Engadget noticed though, Wirefly were also initially willing to disclose a few additional details that the official Sprint website did not, including a solid release date for the device. As seen in this screenshot here, you can clearly see that an May 18 release date is mentioned, but if you head to Wirefly’s EVO 4G LTE page now you’ll see that the release date information has disappeared. Has Sprint been on to them straight away to remove the information asap? It looks that way to us.

If correct, May 18 isn’t too long away but it still gives you a good while to hold out for some even better deals from other online retailers. We have a feeling that some other sellers may be willing to part with some free accessories like we’ve seen in the past so it is well worth keeping your eyes open.

We will let you know if the release date status changes over the next few days, but for now make a note of May 18 for the glorious launch. If you are hunting for the best deals online at the moment, let us know if you have spotted anything better than the $150 price that Wirefly are offering.

Some of you may have thought that the Sprint Epic Touch 4G would be given the cold shoulder from now on, with new devices such as the EVO 4G LTE and the Galaxy Nexus arriving on the network. Well we have some good news for you, as Sprint has just confirmed that the device is far from finished just yet and is on the waiting list to receive an official update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Epic Touch 4G launched back in September of 2011 and was available to buy for $199 with a two-year contract. With those two new devices mentioned above on the way though, you may have become a little concerned that Sprint may stop support of the Epic 4G Touch in order to focus on their new prized assets.

We’re glad to see that this won’t be the case just yet. There’s no official date attached unfortunately, but an announcement on the Sprint forums confirms that the device will definitely receive an update to the latest version of Android, and will be joined by a few other notable handsets as well. The Galaxy S II will also be getting an update on Sprint, as will the Samsung Nexus S.

While it is always nice to hear some official confirmation direct from Sprint, we have a feeling that those of you who are more tech savvy will already be running unofficial versions of ICS anyway. Right now, it’s not particularly hard to find a custom version of Android 4.0 for the Epic 4G Touch and from what we gather it’s a pretty stable build as well.

How is your Epic 4G Touch handling at the moment? Are you still running Gingerbread, or are you more than happy with a custom version of ICS? We’ll let you know once Sprint finalizes a date.
