Since Infinity Ward showed off MW3′s Spec Ops mode on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon the company’s community manager, Robert Bowling aka FourTwoZero, has been hounded with questions regarding this game mode and he has been answering them, this has revealed lots of previously unknown Spec Ops information.

There is a lot to get through, firstly we will talk about what players will be able buy with the money they earn whilst playing Spec Ops. Like Zombies there will be weapon locations and equipment locations on the map, there is no sign of a feature like the mystery box, however there will be a location where you can buy a killstreak, we wonder if this will be random. You can see the tweet and the question which accompanied it here.

Someone also asked whether there would be dogs in MW3, and FourTwoZero replied by saying this “There are dogs and dogs with C4 strapped to them in the Spec Ops Survival Mode”, perhaps this will be a special wave like we saw with the perk stealing monkeys and zombie dogs. You can see the corresponding tweets here.

Lots of people have been asking about Spec Ops difficulty, here FourTwoZero confirmed that you will not be able to change the mode’s difficulty, instead each wave will get progressively more difficult, also he said that currently devs have reached wave 22 (here), however they are still working on the mode’s balance.

As for maps we do not have a full breakdown, apparently unlike zombies Spec Ops will be playable on all multiplayer maps, his tweet read “You can play Spec Ops survival mode on any multiplayer map or mission mode in SP locations in #MW3″. Finally in terms of how you can play Specs ops this tweet confirmed that you can play it offline, online, splitscreen, solo or via matchmaking.

So there you have it folks, it looks like Spec Ops is coming along nicely and it will be one of MW3′s major features, do you like the sound of what devs are bringing to the mode?

Last night during the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon some of the Infinity Ward guys got to show off Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, some of the footage was the same as what we saw at E3 2011, however some was new and shows us our first proper glimpse of Spec Ops footage.

Spec Ops is MW3′s equivalent of zombies and will involve you (and if you like teammates) surviving endless waves of enemies, we have embedded the video which shows this footage at the end of this post.

We have now watched the video a few times and the first thing which we noticed is that the graphics do not look all that great, however we think that this is because it is in its early stages and developers will improve the mode’s looks by the time MW3 arrives in early November.

Another thing which we noticed is the fact that after a round is complete players must press a button to ready up, this suggests that unlike zombies people will have a chance to regroup between rounds. As zombies fans we wonder if it will ruin the mode’s atmosphere build up, let’s face it if zombies gave you breaks between rounds it would be a lot easier and would make crawlers pretty much obsolete, which in turn would make it less tactical.

Finally we can confirm that you will be able to pick up weapons which your enemies drop, this is no real shock, but it is good to know as it is something which we have not heard previously.

Check out the Spec Ops gameplay video which we have embedded below, are you impressed?

How nice is it to know that Modern Warfare 3: Spec Ops will be a vast improvement over previous games in the franchise – which were starting to feel a little lack-lustier. Those who attended E3 and played the game said that it ignites interest not frustration. Early signs show that the game is relentless and will not stop until you have had enough.

Gamers have been getting exited over the new Call of Duty game even before those trailers hit the Internet. However, it seems as though the game is even more exciting than the shock and awe that we watched in those trailers. Ryan Clements from IGN seems to have nothing but praise for Spec Ops – we just hope that he does not get let down.

The idea behind this part of the game is a little like Zombies, as you and a friend have to try and survive as long as possible; things are not made easy due to the constant pounding that you are taking from enemy forces. The longer you survive the more armories you get to unlock, giving you access to a number of new weapons and ammunition.

However, unlike Zombies you and your partner will have a little time out to build your ammo up ready for the next wave of attacks. Specs Ops sounds as though it will become a little gem in a huge game, the question is will you get bored with it?

If you have been looking forward to the release of Spec Ops: The Line you will probably be frustrated with the lack of release date information, however we do have some new screenshots to wet your appetite.

Six new scans have recently been posted on JoyStiq, you can see the gallery of images here, JoyStiq’s recent article here and a trailer here.

These latest shots don’t give a huge amount away, however there are a lot of dull colors used in the landscapes which may really help build an atmosphere for the game.

As for a release date nothing is set-in-stone, the earliest we will see it is in November, however there is a chance it will not be seen in 2010 whatsoever.
