There have been suggestions that the Sony Xperia Z tablet could be the best tablet device to date, but only time will tell. However, we might not have that long to wait because pre-orders have already started, and when looking on the Sony Store there’s some interesting information, but we have wonder how solid the information is?

While on the Sony Store we might be looking at the Sony Xperia Z tablet US release date confirmation, but it’s stated estimated shipping date as May 24, 2014. This date could change, but we have to wonder if it would or not?

Since hearing of the existence of the Z tablet, consumers have been anxiously waiting for news on its release, but at least the Xperia Z tablet US pre-order is a step closer to owning one. We’re not too certain when they were made available for pre-order, but we believe it happened yesterday.

The Sony Xperia Z tablet US price is $599, which is rather expensive for an Android tablet, although this is the price you pay for some of those features. Which is the slimmest 10-inch tablet on the market, dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, Jelly Bean version 4.1.2, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 8.1-megapixel rear-facing camera, NFC and so much more, all of which can be better explained in more detail on the Sony website.

We cannot see why the Xperia Z tablet US release date of May 24, 2013 would change, as Sony has already started their marketing campaign, although it’s a bit of a strange one. It looks as though it is one of several videos to feature a three-legged dog, but it’s still confusing.

It’s hard to say if the Xperia Z tablet will be a hit or not, but we do know having a device so thin will compromise battery life and sturdiness compared to rival tablets, but would you agree?

When we learned that Sony was to release the Xperia Tablet Z to go with their smartphone we knew that we were in for a real treat at MWC, which is where the Android tablet was being displayed. As you would imagine this latest device would be compared to the likes of the iPad 4 and the Nexus 10, but which of the three should you consider?

Both Android tablets have a lot to offer but if you don’t care what platform you want and are looking for a more premium looking tablet, then the Sony Xperia Tablet Z and the Apple iPad 4 should be more advisable than the Nexus 10. To help you decide which tablet would suit your needs then we have 2 video reviews on these, one above and the other below.

In the first video we see the Xperia Tablet Z and the iPad 4 pitted against each other, and it doesn’t take long to see the former is not only thinner but a little lighter as well. However, what stands out for us is how the Tablet Z offers the same water and dust resistance as its smartphone sibling, which is handy in certain circumstances.

After watching the second video, which compares the Xperia Tablet Z against the Nexus 10 we learn that these two Android tablets come with 2GB of RAM, while the iPad 4 only has 1GB of RAM, although Apple is able to manage their memory far better. We can’t help notice that the Nexus 10 looks a little cheap when placed next to Sony’s tablet, although the impressive display on the Samsung tablet more than makes up for this minor issue.

Which of the three would you choose? While it’s clear that the Sony Xperia Tablet Z has several features that are far better than the other two, the price could put you off a little. However, you have to remember that improved specs and a sexy and sleek design was always going to come at a premium.

The iPad 4 and Nexus 7 may be two of the most popular tablets on the market right now, but they are soon to be joined by a very impressive looking tablet from Sony. We’ve already told you about the upcoming Sony Xperia Z Tablet which coincides with the release of an equally as impressive looking smartphone, but now we have the first videos of the sexy tablet for you to take a look at, straight from Japan.

At the moment, there’s no release date information for when this 10.1-inch beast will be releasing in Europe and the US. There has been very positive feedback over the Xperia Z phone and now it looks that Sony finally has a tablet on their hands that will really appeal to consumers as well.

Aside from very impressive hardware specs, Sony can also boast that their Xperia Z Tablet is thinner than the iPad 4 and is now the lightest tablet in the world as well, edging out the Toshiba Excite 10 LE in the process. This is quite a feat for Sony since the device is packed with a multitude of options thanks to a 1.5Ghz quad-core processor, MicroSD support, NFC for one-touch sharing with the Xperia Z, 8.1 megapixel camera and 2GB of RAM.

With that in mind, you can see why consumers are looking to snap one up asap, but the telling factor will obviously be price and seeing as this is definitely geared towards the premium spectrum, Sony may go a little overboard with the price as they have tended to do in the past.

We have two hands on videos for you to enjoy below, taken from Japanese events where the device is currently being shown off to consumers. It does look lovely we have to say – take a look for yourself and let us know if you are really impressed with Sony’s latest products.
