It is not long now before we see the worldwide release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II and the game should be getting Sony PlayStation Move support via a patch next year. An image on the Official PlayStation Community forums is showing a Lightsaber.

James Love of connectedconsoles is reporting that the Kinect is getting its own Star Wars title, so it would not be much of a surprise if the PlayStation Move didn’t get some support from LucasArts as well. As of yet there has been no official news from LucasArts or Sony about any Move Support.

This could be a photo chopped image and not real, but if it is will please a lot of Star Wars fans who also own a PlayStation 3. But with the use of ‘Unleashed 2011’ in the image suggests the game will have some Move support next year, and possibly a Lightsaber.

Would you like to see a Move Lightsaber?

We have on a number of occasions discussed the Sony PS3 Move and the Microsoft Kinect for the Xbox 360. I have been accused of being a PS3 fanboy, but I have just been stating what has been reported about both devices. I feel that I might get attacked again when I report that a recent survey shows that the Sony motion-sensing device will outsell the Microsoft counterpart.

The survey was conducted by the website Groupola.com, and from the 2,000 gamers asked 23 percent of Xbox 360 owners said that they would purchase the Kinect, compared to 64 percent of PlayStation 3 owners saying that they would consider buying the Move.

77 percent of Xbox owners believe that the price of the peripheral is too expensive, which was always going to factor into things. Dan Howdle from NowGamer also points out that only 19 percent of Xbox 360 owners were happy with the titles coming out to support Kinect.

Do not get me wrong, the Kiinect does look a fantastic system, it is just the price that seems to be its mains issue. Which of the two would you purchase?

Both Sony and Microsoft showed once again their upcoming motion-sensing devices at E3 2010. The system for the PS3 is called Move while the new name for the Xbox 360 device is now called Kinect (formally Natal). It is no secrets that the two will be compared to each other, both have their good and bad points.

Matt Peckham from PC World has been looking at both systems and feels that the Sony PlayStation Move is more precise than the new Xbox 360 Kinect, as this was often laggy. I know that I will get slated for this, please remember that this are not my words, I am just reporting what Peckham said.

However, the PC World writer did say that the motion tracking “wands” on the Move is lacking an ultimate app, but when it comes to precision it is on the money. He has certainly made a bold claim saying that going from Kinect to Move is like upgrading to high fidelity.

Sony will be competing with not only Microsoft but also Nintendo with its Wii console, however, it seems that Sony has the upper hand on both. Although we cannot see either the PS3 Move or the new Kinect for the Xbox 360 affecting sales of the Wii any time soon.

Sony did not have a lot to offer during their E3 2010 keynote, but there was a couple of announcements worth mentioning – the first was that PS3 soundbar we discussed this morning and the other is this PlayStation 3 Move shooting attachment.

Paul Miller from Engadget was not that bothered about the new device – that was until he saw some photos of it. He explains that the trigger locks the analog “T” trigger of the controller, offering a superb shooting experience. The main buttons of the PS3 Move controller is still visible from the top of the gun attachment.

The device does not have a futuristic look – instead opting to look like something from the old Flash Gordon Series. Miller reckons that it is like a 1950’s ray gun – we would have to agree. It certainly looks funky when the ball on the end begins to light up.

For a closer look at the PlayStation Move shooting attachment, visit the gallery that Engadget has come up with for us.
