As reported from Eurogamer, the new content will be landing on the PS3 on Thursday, 29th April. It is titled the ‘Fast Attack Pack’ and consists of three Special Edition Sniper Rifles and Improved Light Armor for all three factions.

For those of you interested in what exact rifles they are: you’ll get Raven’s SVER’s SASR M, HM 90 SE, and Valor’s MK 14 Mod 1 EBR – all with added enhancements.

As reported from VG247, the game will automatically install the patch update when you next log into the game. According to Zipper Interactive’s Jeremy Dunham, the patch will also improve the frame rate when playing, as well as other in-game tweaks.

If you really play attention whilst in-game, you’ll also notice that lighting for every environment has been improved, while you’ll also be able to sprint for longer, before getting tired.

As reported from CVG, MAG is currently in the stage of Open Beta, as Sony make final preparations for its anticipated release at the end of the month.

When speaking in a recent interview, SCEE’s Phil Lynch stated that ”MAG will definitely be one of the many tipping points for those who haven’t got a PS3 to get one this January.”

Boasting 256 players online at one time is certainly an impressive feat, but will they really be able to cope with the obvious strains on their servers after release? We all know what happened with Modern Warfare 2 after all.

As reported from VG247, the MAG servers are now up and running and the game is open to all, once players have downloaded all the patches and updates.

It may take you a while to download everything (some files are 1.8-2.3GB), but will be well worth it once you have finished.

The full game is out at the end of this month. Full instructions on how to get into the beta can be found over at VG247.
