Following from the news that Mortal Kombat HD Kollection would be gaining a extra 3D bonus, we now have what looks to be a confirmation of an upcoming Prince of Persia Trilogy game for the PS3, also available in 3D.

As reported from VideoGamer, the game is now being listed on various retailers online, notably on Shop2.net as they have also revealed a release date and price for UK orders.

According to them, Prince of Persia Trilogy 3D will be out on November 26th, and will be priced at the very reasonable £23.95 (Normal price £29.99). For that you’ll get 3D remakes of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones – not bad at all is it?

Check out the box art here as well, courtesy of JeuxVideo. It may differ slightly to the EU box art though. No word on if this collection will be hitting the Xbox 360 or not yet – we’ll keep you informed.

Killzone 3 (see three gameplay videos) is going to be a different animal to the previous two titles, as the game will not only support 3D but the new PlayStation Move as well. This is a big step for Sony and could make or break the game, with fears that the motion-control technology could take the seriousness away from the game.

Matt M from Critical Gamer has now spent some time with Killzone 3 and has written a hands-on review, and from the start you can tell that he was a fan of the 3D technology used, but not with Move – stating that he was never happy with motion controls in the first place.

Matt gets straight into it by saying that trying to aim crosshairs with motion control was very difficult, this was because it was flying all over the place – something that we are all familiar with on the Nintendo Wii.

Having said that, 3D more than makes up for this, with Matt saying that he was very impressed with it and that it was “relatively unobtrusive.” The 3D aspect of the game could not be any different to Move, the former integrating nicely, the latter certainly lacks in that area.

Killzone 3 like its predecessor is a game that looks the part, and hopefully the 3D element is a great addition. However, the Move side of things could have serious gamers complaining in their droves. We will not have that long to wait, with February being the expected release date.

What are you looking forward to more with Killzone 3 – 3D or Move?

We have some important news for PS3 owners now, as Sony has confirmed that 3D gaming on the console will be capped to an output resolution of 720p, and not 1080p as some of you may have been expecting.

As reported from VG247, Sony’s senior development manager, Simon Benson confirmed the news when talking at the recent Develop conference.

It turns out that even 1080p games such as Super Stardust HD are downscaled to 720p, despite the fact that the PS3 is capable of outputting 1080p 3D images.

Sony’s response is that upscaling games to 1080p 3D will interfere with their 60FPS setting, so this was a decision made on balance it seems, as they didn’t want to ruin the experience for gamers.

It’s not the end of the world actually, as there is hardly much difference between 720p 3D and 1080p anyway. Are you bothered about this or not?

Give us your thoughts.

If you are planning on forking out for a Sony 3D TV set in order to play 3D games on the Playstation 3, you might want to take a read of Sony’s updated Playstation terms and conditions.

As reported from VG247, Sony has updated their T&C’s with a few warnings about potential health risks for consumers watching or indeed playing 3D content.

According to Sony, some people may experience discomfort when viewing 3D content, with possible symptoms including eye strain, eye fatigue or nausea. If this happens to you, Sony advises you to stop viewing 3D content immediately.

They also recommend users to take regular breaks in between 3D sessions, and stress that 3D viewing is not suitable for children under six.

Here is a portion of Sony’s updated terms and conditions:

”Some people may experience discomfort (such as eye strain, eye fatigue or nausea) while watching 3D video images or playing stereoscopic 3D games on 3D televisions. If you experience such discomfort, you should immediately discontinue use of your television until the discomfort subsides.”

Consider yourself warned. Let us know your thoughts on this, there is more from Sony through the link.

Some rather disappointing news to deliver to PS3 owners now, as Sony has stated that Killzone 2 will NOT be supported by upcoming 3D visuals, in relation to that Qore video that suggested otherwise.

As reported from VG247, Sony has now stated that the Qore video was only for ‘demonstration’ purposes, on what the PS3 was capable of in terms of 3D, but an actual 3D outing for Killzone 2 will not be coming.

In a recent statement the company said: ”We apologize for the erroneous inference that 3D versions of LBP, Wipeout HD, Killzone 2, Gran Turismo 5 or Super Stardust HD are in production.”

Not too good is it? We really hope that doesn’t mean Gran Turismo 5 as well. Let us know your thoughts on this. They could of made it a bit more clear to the gamers, don’t you think?

For all of you who are planning to pick up a 3D TV set and head straight into Sony’s 3D gaming this Summer, a recent survey has concluded that 36% of people are planning to do exactly the same thing – according to the Consumer Electronics Association.

As reported from TGDaily, this is apparently more than double the figure that was asked in a survey about HD games a few years ago.

Other stats in the survey revealed that while 36% are buying a 3D TV solely for video games, a whopping 65% of people are buying a 3D set just so they can enjoy movies in 3D.

At the start of the year, 3D TV talk was practically non-existant. But in the last few months, people cannot stop talking about 3D and the exciting capabilities that it will offer consumers this Summer.

More stats through the link, let us know your thoughts on this. Are you pumped up for 3D or not?

We told you this was coming before Summer lands, but now Sony has just confirmed it once again for us. PS3 consoles will be upgraded with 3D gaming support sometime in June, along with the release of their 3D-TV sets.

As reported from Eurogamer, Sony’s Simon Benson was speaking about the launch of 3D gaming at last week’s Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

He confirmed that Sony’s 3D TV sets will be available in June, and that 3D gaming will be released along with it, within that month – without going into specifics, obviously.

However, when speaking to Eurogamer, he did show off 3D demos of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, WipEout HD and Super Stardust HD, so these could be among the launch batch when it all becomes available.

Personally, i’ve played MS: Pacific Rift in 3D using Sony’s glasses last month, and it did look quite impressive to say the least. It looks set to be a busy summer for Sony.

Let us know your thoughts on Sony’s impending venture into 3D.

You may remember us informing you about this last month, but now we have an update from Sony, who reiterate that 3D games on the PS3 will be coming before Summer – thanks to a simple firmware update.

As reported from this article over at PC World, SCEE’s Nainan Shah reassured PS3 gamers, that they will ‘not’ require any new PS3 equipment to enjoy 3D games, as this will automatically happen via a future firmware update.

He explained: “PS3 users worldwide will only need to upgrade the PS3 system software via the internet and there is no need to repurchase the system to enjoy 3D games.”

If you didnt know already, developers are already at work on stereoscopic 3D games for Sony, with the company keen to extend their 3D ambitions to other devices too – such as Blu-ray players.

To see how 3D games will look on the PS3, head to our previous report on Little Big Planet and Gran Turismo 5 in 3D.

Dont forget that Sony are also planning to have 3D available for the upcoming Fifa World Cup -which kicks off in June, meaning that this 3D firmware update should be hitting very soon indeed.

Let us know your thoughts on this.

You probably are aware that a 3D version of Gran Turismo 5 is on the way soon, but did you realise that Sony also have a stereoscopic 3D version of LittleBigPlanet on the way too? It was shown off to a watching audience at a recent developers event.

As reported from Eurogamer, a whole collection of 3D-capable games were shown off at Evolution Studios this week, which included playable demos for Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and Super Stardust HD.

All the attention was on the non-playable games though, as Sony had both Gran Turismo 5 and LittleBigPlanet running 3D demos, much to the delight of everyone in attendance.

According to Eurogamer, the added benefit of stereoscopic 3D within games, now paves the way for landscapes with a stunning sense of depth. Full article in the link above, definitely worth a read if you’re intrigued by the whole 3D idea.
