Apple’s new MacBook Pro models have been out for just over two months which has given consumers a chance to thoroughly test them out, we can now confirm that a firmware update has been released by Apple to squash some problems / imperfections.

You can download the new firmware update here or via Software Update, once installed you should have improved graphics stability, better external display support / 3D performance and enhanced Thunderbolt device support.

Apple has called this update software update 1.4, it is roughly 130MB in size and to install this you must have Mac OS X 10.6.7 1.4 installed. Also an EFI update has also been rolled out, you can also install this update via software update, check out Engadgetfor more information, it seems to fix a Turbo Boost-related problem which was caused by Boot Camp.

One of Engadget’s readers suggest that since installing the update their secondry display does not work, has the same thing happened to you? Let us know in the comments below.

Did both updates go smoothly for you?

The Motorola Droid 2 is a mobile that is the 5th Droid phone to be released. Currently Verizon has exclusive rights to it. As do many phones do these days, the Droid runs on Android, the OS created by Google. The device is respectable and has a decent spec.

The Droid 2 has a 3.7” screen, 8GB of internal memory and it normally comes with an 8GB SDHC card, these are just a few of the specs. You can read the full specs directly from the Motorola website here.

This device has so many positives but of course, it has its negatives. There are some fundamental bugs with the device that happen when you do specific actions. An example of this is, whenever you power up the device it says “No Service”, this will change following the update. The device will no longer be resetting it’s self when changing from GSM/UMTS to the Global mode either. These are just some of the planned bug fixes, there are more including improved audio and a reduction in user interface lock-ups. Droid-life.com have an article that shows the software update sheet from Verizon, the update sheet shows what the improvements are, you can see it by clicking here.

Again, according to Kellex from over at droid-life.com the update will need to be done by going to Settings, then to About Phone, and finally System Updates to check for it. We don’t seem to have a release date for the update yet but we are hoping it comes very soon.

Have you been experiencing any of the problems that droid-life state? Is there anything that has been missed previously that you want in the update? Let us know in the comments below.
