HTC Touch Diamond could be launched in May: Not Android
April 28, 2008 by Peter

News has come to light that HTC will be holding a massive press event on 6th May and those lucky guys over at Pocket-Lint will be going. This global press event has got many people talking, which means that there are plenty of rumors circulating. Some people believe that the smartphome maker will announce the launch of their Andriod handset however; this seems to be a bit of wishful thinking.
Some of the latest suggestions are that this could be the announcement of the launch of the HTC Touch Diamond, which is their latest Windows Mobile SmartPhone. This new cell phone will see it replace the older Touch Cruise as well as the Touch Pro and will be on the T-Mobile network.
Some of the latest specs to be featured on the much anticipated HTC Touch Diamond are a 2.8-inch VGA screen and a 3.1MP camera with flash, 4GB internal flash storage as well as microSD expansion. The addition of Bluetooth as well as Wi-Fi is just great news. That is not all as the handset also features Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, eGPS as well as an Orientation sensor.
Once we know some more we will keep you informed, and no doubt Pocket-Lint will have all the latest once they have attended the press event.

New Palm Treo 800w Sprint smartphone gets Wi-Fi
April 23, 2008 by Peter

It seems that no matter where you go you are always finding out more details about the new Palm Treo 800w Sprint, the latest details on this Palm Treo smartphone is that it will be Wi-Fi enabled. It is now thought that the new Treo 800w Sprint is in its beta stage and the new Windows Mobile-powered smartphone was rumored to be able to have sent an email to a certain amount of people who use Wi-Fi, so if this is true it has given the smartphone a whole new customer base.
We do hope that the WiFi rumor is true as the new Palm 800w Sprint would be the first Treo to have this feature. Treo’s in the past have not embraced Wi-Fi, instead they have preferred to use EV-DO and EDGE which are not as good as Wi-Fi. T-Mobile has never been a fan of the Palm Treo and this is due to the lack of the Wi-Fi feature, which is why they have never wanted to sell the smartphones in the past. Well you never know what the future might hold; we could see the new Palm Treo 800w in T-Mobile stores when the smartphone is launched.
Would you now purchase a Palm Treo just because it has Wi-Fi.

Skype finally goes mobile, but is this enough for you to start using it?

Thanks to Phones Review we have found out that Skype has finally gone mobile, what is interesting is what Peter said over at Phones Review which I have to agree on is that the service has flaws, he said that he has trouble chatting to people on Skype and I do agree with that.
But nether the less they are making this service more stable and maybe the new Skype Mobile is much better, Skype will work better on mobile phones thanks to the number of new smartphones and obviously Wi-Fi hotspots.
I will definitely be trying Skype out on my new mobile phone, so please answer this for me “Skype finally goes mobile, but is this enough for you to start using it?
Nokia N96 will be possibly getting xenon flash: True or False
March 31, 2008 by Mark

According to Phones Review who got their information from another source they are saying that the super smartphone Nokia N96 will possibly getting xenon flash, maybe this is true but then again maybe it is false, we will have to wait and see.
Obviously this is not official but we are going on what we have heard, a Nokia Rep apparently has said “the delays are due to them adding (at the last minute) a Xenon flash, ala N82! Finally, an all in one phone with almost nothing (bar BlackBerry) missing, from what I can tell of the marketing stuff he left for the N82, Xenon flashes seem to be Nokia’s next big push from now on, which is fine by me.”
So when you think about it that the Nokia N82 has it, you must wonder that surely the Nokia N96 should have xenon flash.
We will keep you updated.

A mobile phone that boldly goes where no man has gone before, HTC Star Trek Smartphones has surely got to be for all you trekkie fans. The mobile phone called the HTC Star Trek had its debut and the Trekkie flip cell phone was powered by Windows Mobile 5.0.
It is apparently one of the smallest flip phones available and definitely one of the few that beams in the WinMo platform.
Some clever ROM engineers at xda-developers have developed Windows Mobile 6.0 standard ROM to go into the HTC Star Trek. There will be different Windows Mobile 6 ROMs available for the varying versions of the HTC Star Trek including, Cingular 3125, Qtek 8500, i-mate and Smartship.

Hey warp yourself over to XDA and beam in the ROM which will power you Star Trek phone.
Sorry but the images of the phones are ghastly.
