If you own an LG Smart TV it looks like your gaming experience is about to get a lot better, which is thanks to LG Electronics announcing a few new games for their 3D Cinema Smart TVs. These new titles have been hand picked to deliver some great entertainment in the living room for all the family, and the upcoming selection features Mini Motor Racing, Air Penguin, The Sims FreePlay, Where’s My Water, and many more.

The gaming experience is improved even more thanks to LG’s Magic Remote that’s also motion sensing. Some of these games have been popular on tablets and smartphones, so it will be interesting to see how popular they become on the big screen once they arrive next month.

Some of the titles have been fine tuned for LG’s 3D Smart TV, and this includes Mini Motor Racing that also benefits from LG’s Dual Play feature. This allows two players to see the screen full size, rather than split screen and is achieved thanks to FPR 3D technology.

You might have seen something similar in cars when the driver can’t see a TV station, although the passenger can. This sounds a great idea considering the pain splitting a screen in gaming can be sometimes, also when playing against someone else the other player won’t see your screen as you do with the traditional split screen.

You can read more about the upcoming titles on LG’s blog here, or download them from LG’s SmartWorld early next year. Keep an eye on the news coming out of CES 2013, which will include a demonstration of the new games by LG.

We recently told you about the first LG TV that was to come with the Google TV feature, as more new TVs now become Smart TVs. Now if you have recently purchased a new HDTV and still want an internet connected TV there is a solution for you, as a new Samsung inTouch device will turn any HDTV Smart.

Samsung has announced its new system at CES2012 that will becoming available in March, and basically sits on top of any HDTV. The device looks similar to the Microsoft Kinect and will add Skype functionality to your TV among other things. According to a report it also features built-in Wi-Fi and will allow you to search the internet and connect with YouTube.

It will come preloaded with applications and has 720p HD video with a nice QWERTY keyboard to make all that internet searching nice and straight forward. The camera has a tilt range of -30 degrees to 0 degrees. This will allow more flexibility when using the camera for still images, and an integrated USB port will allow you to easily upload images to Facebook.

The webcam has 3-megapixels and the operating system is a scaled down version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Other preloaded applications include Google News and Weather, and will be available in March from retailers for $199.99/£130.

Will you like to turn your HDTV into a Smart TV?

In recent times we have seen a big increase in TVs that connect to the internet and interact more with users. Along with 3D Smart TVs have increased in availability and the amount of content they have to offer. This year it has been rumored that Apple could be joining this market with their own branded set and change the way we use them. Today we have news that Samsung India secures Smart TV apps for the region.

A leading online music provider for Indian music has reached an agreement with Samsung India, and according to IIFL iMusti.com will work on video applications exclusively for Samsung Smart TV owners. The deal that is the first of its kind will try and offer customers a supreme audiovisual experience.

The applications will provide customers the chance to stream movies and videos on demand, with more than 5,000 titles across various genres and languages. Popular movies along with contemporary TV shows as well as regional compilation of songs and movies from Bengali to Marathi will be on offer.

During the next year iMusti.com will also develop another twelve applications for the service. Samir D. Khandwala of iMusti, Inc. stated that the company has always concentrated on offering a varied range of Indian music.

Khandwala went on to say that the company is looking to develop their video applications for consumers around the world, and that “Samsung’s unrivaled scale and remarkable global customer base will help us achieve the same”.

Currently the internet video market is only just beginning in India, but it is expected to grow at a rapid rate in the next few years. iMusti.com has 24 different genres of Indian music on offer that is licensed, and brings with it a range of audio and video content on many different platforms around the world. It has applications for Android and iOS mobile devices for the likes of Apple, Samsung, HTC, and Motorola.

Later this month with CES 2012 we will probably see a lot more innovation with Samsung and other companies with Smart TVs, and we will bring all the news as it happens here on Product Reviews. Do you have a Smart TV?

In recent months there has been lots of speculation regarding Apple bringing out their own range of TV sets. As these rumors of a connected TV grow there is reported low demand for an Apple branded and other Smart TVs from consumers.

According to a new survey only fifteen percent of the UK population is thinking of purchasing a Smart TV in the next year. Macworld are reporting that although Apple products remain popular, a TV could struggle with such low demands for the technology.

It has been well reported that former Apple CEO Steve Jobs had said he had “finally cracked it” with regards to the TV market. But except from dedicated Apple fans many consumers will probably give the device a miss, as data from YouGov has shown that only 1 in 10 people own a Smart TV.

There have been numerous rumors that any device from Apple will feature the Siri voice control feature that debuted on the iPhone 4S. It has also been claimed that any such device from Apple will be the simplest TVs to control. One feature that many consumers may find appealing though is any social TV app.

This could allow owners to view programs simultaneously with friends, and be able to share and comment on the content via Facebook or Twitter. According to the same survey sixty percent of the UK population use Facebook every day, so this feature could prove to be appealing to many.

It has to be remembered though that many may not be planning on getting a Smart TV due to not having the money, or may have only just upgraded to a new HDTV. Do you plan to get a Smart TV in the future?

Recently new TV specs have been focused on whether it’s a 3D display or not, but the next big thing with TVs is if they can connect to the internet...

Recently new TV specs have been focused on whether it’s a 3D display or not, but the next big thing with TVs is if they can connect to the internet or not. More people now want the convenience of being able to download content straight to their TV. We thought we would compare 3D TV vs Smart TV and see what’s the most useful.

An article on Chip Chick.com is looking into smart TVs and how they compare to 3D TVs that are now available. Samsung are a major player in the market and their sets are managed by the Smart Hub. This is where owners can manage all their apps for getting content to the set. You can even browse the web, but is not quite what you can expect from a computer.

But how do they compare to 3D TVs? Most 3D TVs are just an enhanced screen unless they are also a smart TV of course. The technology isn’t really new, the likes of Apple TV has been around for a while now but are not integrated inside the set itself.

With the services from the likes of Hulu and Netflix, consumers can now get top movie and television rentals directly to set top boxes or smart TVs. This could be a big year for smart TVs and you will just need to decide if you want one that’s 3D or not.
