Considering that Skyfire 2.0 will now enable you to watch flash content on your iPhone 4, will it now replace the default Safari browser for your daily web surfing?

We recently told you about a hands-on video demo that had been provided to you courtesy of Engadget, but we’re more interested to see some user opinions on the software.

Hopefully the Skyfire creators will get the licencing issues fixed up, so everyone else can download it from the App store, but for everyone that does have it, let us know how you rate the flash content viewing on Skyfire so far.

Luckily Engadget managed to get their hands on Skyfire 2.0 before it became “sold out”, they have put together a brief hands-on video demo showing the browser’s capabilities, we have embedded it at the end of this post.

Engadget seemed happy with the mobile web browser, however scrolling up and down a web page wasn’t as smooth as what some other browsers offer, also the pinch to zoom functionality wasn’t perfect.

What everyone cares about are the Flash video capabilities, as you may know Skyfire 2.0 allows iPhone users to watch Flash video by using their servers to convert the video to HTML5, this is demoed in the video below, and it works well, check out the video yourself and let us know whether you are impressed in the comments section.

There is one slight imperfection with the service, there is no bar to show you how long the video lasts, or how much you have watched, which means that you can’t jump to certain parts of the video, perhaps they will work out a way round this issue soon.

Now that it has arrived at the App Store it has overtaken Angry Birds as the top grossing app, in fact it is now sold out as Skyfire’s servers can’t keep up with the demand for all of the video conversion.

Obviously it is impossible for a mobile application to sell out, however Skyfire made the decision to pull it from the App Store until they increase their server capacity.

You have to admire Skyfire’s decision to pull the app, they could have quite easily left it on there for everyone to buy at $2.99, however instead opted to stop sales and concentrate on delivering great Flash conversion, rather than offer a poor service.

At this moment in time we have no idea as to when Skyfire 2.0 will become available again at the App Store, therefore we will have to keep you posted, one thing that is for sure is just how much iPhone users want to view Flash content.
